T'wolves win a close one tonight (really, they didn't lose it)
107-111. Team bounced back well and held up. Take the W's however possible. Also, Pek is a machine.
Wolves now 14-13.
The good:
Pek. Pek. and MOAR Pek: 28 and 11 (13-20 FG) and the best part is that they fed him down in the post in the 4th. Huge equalizer when we couldn't get a play off. Good coaching on Rick's part to feed him. Love took one shot in the last 5 minutes of that game... and we won. Just crystallizes my point about Pek needing to be here for the long haul.
Shved: 12 points, 10 assists, and was the other key component tonight late in the game. Where would we be without Shvedtime aka ShvedAlert?
51% FG, 10 turnovers.
Also, 6 players in double figures, Love 23 and 18 and Ak 21, 5, and 4
The bad:
4 Turnovers for the Suns. 4! 2 of them being offensive fouls. We got the key stop in the 4th but that's tough. Indictment on defense, and Phoenix missed several wide open shots. We dodged a bullet.
Scola had 31 and 10. Just abusive.
Lastly, the Roy situation. I'll just say this: the inevitable is coming. I wanna see Roy back out there, but I also care for his health. If this will impact his life after basketball, just hang it up. It's a risk that needed to be taken. It hasn't worked out. He's out. Now Lee's out. Josh is out and Shved is a rag doll. We're depleted. He's gonna do more extensive stuff, but I'd be stunned if he came back now. I just hope he does the right thing for him and his family, but on this team's part, no regrets. Now they gotta figure out how to get through this. Mickael Gelabale is a guy we're looking at (Garrett Temple's in Washington, CDR's in Dallas). They won't sign someone til 10-day deals are eligible. I'm almost fresh out of options. Wherever we pick next year in the draft, SG/SF is a must.
14-13. 2 game road trip at Utah and Denver coming up. BIG games.
