Wolves win at home tonight against the Magic
75-90
Wolves now 3-1.
The final score doesn't indicate how we pulled away. The team took their foot off the gas pedal for the last 5 minutes and they only scored 75 points. Contributions from everyone not named Lou Amundson.
The good:
Everyone put in work, especially on defense. 35% shooting, 3-12 from 3 by Orlando. 9 blocks, 11 steals, and we forced 19 turnovers. Stellar.
Ridnour: 19 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 3's. Really stepped up with his jumper.
Derrick Williams: 14 and 6, +24 to lead the team. He's getting it figured out a little bit at a time. I'd love to see his jumper come around but he's taking baby steps and it's helping the team.
Stiemsma: 12 points, 5 rebounds, 3 blocks. He was a beast out there, and him and JJ already have good chemistry. Very good that the 2nd unit establishes this:
The bad:
19 turnovers. In fairness, they didn't turn the ball over when they made their run, but it's still too high. Luckily for them, Orlando couldn't take advantage. The game was closer than it should have been anyway.
Lou Amundson: you're killing me smalls.
Lastly, only 15-22 from the line. This team will have games won and lost at the FT line. They must improve from there. It's been shaky at best so far.
All in all, good night. Off to the next game which is Indiana with no Granger. They're pesky so that should be a good test. The Conroy avi is working.
