Yup. Best tasting food in the States. The food alone makes me glad my people didn't migrate from the south lol
Calm yourself,
who you think raised us??? No less than three girls who grew up in my building either cook soul food professionally or semi pro (selling plates). Me, my mama,
and my brother all cook our ass off, better than some raised in the south judging by relatives reactions.

On one side, my grandfather was a chef, cooking for Nicky Barnes and them on his off time (he did soul food, Italian,
and kosher). On the other side, my uncle roasts a pig every 4th of July and my man's uncle is the same- both born and raised in the south, you know, older southern men who can cook. Growing up, my mother's 'friend,' born and raised in Savannah, used to tear up some catfish (which
he caught out there with that same uncle I mentioned). He taught my man.
We maintain tradition in our homes up here. Since the 70's/80's, it's too expensive to get a storefront. My man's people used to own a soul food restaurant in Bk, but that was back in the day. We keep talking about a food truck.
