Mentioned a good looking, cheap apartment i found in the BX to my homegirl (harlem) and her cousin, first thing they said was “ewww” all immature like. Or even dudes will say “nah shes from the bronx, i cant mess with her”, mad corny stuff

And this is basically the running theme about BX from tons of people. I like the bronx (the good parts) and enjoy alot of my friends i know from there. And I love being around primarily black/spanish ppl, dont feel like a minority ever in the X. Never understood why ppl be dragging it od.

We know we official, there would be no hip hop without the BX. Literally the whole world imitating something BX created.

People say shyt like that out of fear

There’s a reason they talk about us but we don’t talk about them :umad:

And ain’t many places in America or planet earth for that matter you’ll find more and/or badder chicks than Fordham Rd :noah:

I've been in these Bronx streets my entire life and I can assure you the slander is well deserved.

Statistically, we are the poorest, fattest and least educated borough and we like it that way. Keeps the gentrifiers out for the most part

You can let a realtor fool you into thinking that 2 bedroom in Olinville Heights is in an up & coming neighborhood if you want to but Gun Hill been Gun Hill and never gonna change

i grew up in across the street from the Castle Hill projects in the crack era.
rest of the fam lived in the South Bronx, yo...that shyt was grimy.
no, grimy does not capture it and i honestly don't know if i have the words to.
you had to live it to really understand.
as for the Hip Hop shyt, yeah. me and my boys in elementary would all take bathroom breaks
at the same time and have breaking contests in the bathroom. somebody actually brought cardboard too.

:wow:

The gentrification has creeped in to 161st area by Yankee stadium..

That whole Jerome strip from Yankee stadium to tracy towers gonna be a different ballgame in 5-10 years...

What I'm noticing is they are selling what I assume are former section 8 apartments as Co ops now...
