Sounds like a scam
Man lives on the top floor
Was never aware of any lien
Paid thousands of dollars in taxes, and water bills

Turn the water off!

They should at least give people their equity in cases like this. Why is our society set up to steal from people? You take 800,000 because someone owes 5k? What a complete shythole of a nation.

The original unpaid water bill was $600.

His attorney, Alice Nicholson, said that the initial water bill was about $600 in 2019. It then got adjudicated during the depths of the pandemic, out of the view of her client, as well as others who might have flagged it.

“There’s no connection of that bill to the other bills in the Department of Finance system,” Nicholson said. “So the homeowner does not know that there’s another bill out there. That’s accumulating interest at 18 percent a day.”

That fact quickly expanded the bill to $5,000, which went unpaid without the homeowner’s knowledge, the attorney said. In addition, she said, the amount owed got another $15,000 in fees attached to it. With $20,000 in arrears, the city put a lien on the Brown Family home, which allowed a bank to take over.

Between the mafia, property taxes and Jews, holding on to your home is a uphill battle here
:francis:
Yea man. You aint lying.

If you think about it. A lot of the outter borroughs are/were italian. Meaning a lot of the work done by italian companies.

The yews go around reporting the violations. The govt comes to ya door. And fines you. Not the company that did the job. Not the inspector that signed off. You. And you watch them hit everyone on ya block at once…. Just walking down the street as a crew knocking on doors. 10 years later those houses are gone. And mansions took their place.

You then find the work order and call up the company that did the og job. Oops. Mafia. Then 5 guineas show up smashing up ya crib talking about keep ya mouth shut.

This happened in a lot of the undeveloped areas of the 5 borroughs on the outter rim as they modernized and connected everything. They bought up people on the edges and turned it all into new neighborhoods. Whatever change was coming, theyd find those things wrong with your current hookup and essentially force you out by making you replace it (big money for reg people) even when itll be useless in 2 years anyway.

build new over the old it and squeeze in every home they can and make as much money as possible. Construction, the govt, builders, mafia trades, etc. all in it.

Theres so many scams people try in nyc had to get the fukk outta there cuz its war. Like i said. This isnt make believe this is a real example involving all 3 from back in day. I see things havent changed.

Like … they PLOTTING. On everyones shyt.

Kansas City, MO.
Court documents show the investors served someone at his home with papers in November of 2020 during the height of the pandemic. The documents announced that they were initiating foreclosure proceedings.

Mr. Brown claims he didn't get the notice. He lives on the top floor of a three-unit home and rents out the lower two units to other families.
