My boy copped his house years ago before sh!t started getting real crazy (at least over 5 years ago). He lives in the Crown Heights area. He was born in Barbados. If y'all are not comfortable with what the thread title says, then y'all need to band together and put your money where your mouth is (aka, fight for your sh!t).
:manny:

The fact that you say this like it's a problem :francis:

you missed my point towards the end. I’m talking about recent events to say that they themselves are cleaning up the neighborhood to make it their own. I’m not saying what happened is a problem black people could have done it themselves

I’m saying the white people move in and right away start acting like it’s their neighborhood that they run

no matter what goes on it’s the mentality of white people acting like they are your parent or something. Same way cops police neighborhoods they don’t even live in

Still... I don't see the problem. When a mess needs to be cleaned up, you clean it up. Tired of black people living in turmoil and thinking it's okay. Prostitutes and drug dealing happening in your backyard and nikkas just like "this is fine :popcorn3:" like wtf, no it's not :gucci:

We really supposed to be mad cuz white people deciding it's time to clean up these communities and make the streets safer for everyone? What type of backwards shyt is that? :dahell:

I don't care what color these people are. If they coming in and cleaning up the crime and fixing the community up I don't see the problem.

Breh let’s be real for a second

the issue has been going on for decades. Black people have drove and walked past it all the time. Let’s be real you don’t think black people also weren’t complaining a lot? Why are you assuming that black folks said they were content in living in those conditions.

Chances are a lot of them have been complaining for years especially alot of the elders. Why is it all of a sudden though that when white people complain the post can run like 5 articles and then all of a sudden task forces come in and actually do their job. Like wtf?

black people who live in the neighborhood were prob telling cops for years and ignored because they aren’t like the rich white people with connections. It’s not fair at all. This happens in hoods across the country. Black people complain about a problem with cleaning up the neighborhood to the cops and they respond nonchalantly, but then when the community starts to get gentrified all of a sudden police can do their job

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
The percentage of black people in NY is declining as more black people are leaving NY than moving in. I wasn't false, black immigrants are still counted as "Black or African American" in the Census...

I never said NY wasn't still attracting black immigrants; in fact I pointed out how California is still attracting black people, as I know of several black easterners or southerners who relocated to Cali in the 2010s---->it's just more black people are still leaving Cali than moving in...

But the wisecracking on here was that nobody black was moving to Cali and that's false, and my point in general was shytting on black displacement in Cali was wack when the same thing that happened to Cali in the 80s, 90s, and 00s, is now occurring all across the northern cities and states at exponential rates...

This is actually true, Charlotte is up to 16% Latino now, down to 32% black. Raleigh is 26% black, 13% Latino now. Obviously black folk still moving here from all over but Latinos definitely moving in at a brisker pace and there are Ricans and Dominicans from the Northeast moving into NC too...

I live in Raleigh and this is most definitely happening here too...

No you didn’t say anything about black immigrants. I was the one telling you that the narrative you were using was off cause because when a 2 or 3 blacks person leaves NY there is a black immigrant that comes into the city to replace them.

Percentage wise is where I disagreed. There are cities where the percentage of black people (ATL) has dropped significantly.

Brookyn has close to 3 million people. If 50K black people left it wouldn’t be a drastic decrease because of how populated it is.

The middle class black communities in Brooklyn are still very very black. And honestly I’m at least happy about that.

Flatlands
Mill Basin
Canarsie
East Flatbush
Flatbush (not really middle class but yea)

As of 2021 I don’t really car is dangerous neighborhoods gets gentrified. All I ask for is that the people who aren’t part of the destruction of the community get assistance so they aren’t displaced

There's no way for lower income Black people to really fight this. NYC is in a giant financial hole and they need all the high income residents it can take. It's tough to fight when it's the economics that are pushing people out.
