All of that happened on the first day. They didn’t think Shedeur would be there in the 5th round.

If Haslem concluded Andrew Berry picked the potential franchise starter and Stefanski chose Dillon Gabriel, this was always going to end this way. I like this move and if the get a young innovative QB friendly coach in there, they are actually setup pretty nicely

Browns already have invested a ton in the QB spot for 2026(two draft picks in Sanders and Gabriel and 45M with Watson). Even a mediocre starting caliber QB is going to be north of 10M AAV. Unless they wanna bring in a body like Gardner Minshew or Carson Wentz, might as well roll with Sanders, Watson and Gabriel

They probably would’ve been in the division race had the defense played like they played for the past 2 weeks.

They would’ve won more games had they started the season with Sanders or went to Sanders after benching Flacco.

Basically Gabriel cost him his job.

Shedeur has more "boom/bust" potential, but the good part is that he's simply more.

More = more highs and lows because he takes chances, which is how QBs learn. I think DG was more aware of his shortcomings and played like it.

Also think Stefanski was invested in making DG look as good as possible, moreso than Shedeur.
