nah that whole "just make good music" argument dont work because "good" is subjective, and since Ebro chooses the playlist for the cities most popular hip-hop radio station, what he feels is "good" is what gets played. that's the problem. that's what buckshot was getting at him about being the gatekeeper in their interview. Its not about "make good music and you will get played" its about "make music that fits this criteria and you will get played".
How do Ebro choose the the playlist for NYC when the same list for NYC is played nationwide minus some southern cities?

Vlad TV is Hip Hop's TMZ. Straight garbage content. No quality at all in what he does.

And Buck' is right, but he could've said this in like two minutes, not seven. But true shyt though, Ebro's a clown and could care less about pushing the culture forward. Radio isn't what it used to be, it's mad limited now, and purists or even people who remember radio at its best, are clearly gonna have issues with program directors if they're not contributing to the music by providing a certain level of diversity with their playlists that they used to.

If it involves culture and has a semblance of class it's reserved space for white artists now.

Unless you a straight dumbass, junglebunny without class or sense you ain't getting pushed to the black community as an artist or as Ebro says "good music". It helps if your sexuality is blurred as well. The more effeminate the better.

Pretty much r&b divas run the game and if you don't fit that then you ain't getting play.

More and more 1/2 hit wonders

No simpler way to put it than that.

Nobody really listened to Ebro when he tried to explain to these bums. The radio isn't around to blow up bum street rappers. It's there to sell product to people when they tune into the radio and keep them interested in listening. He was explaining how data shows people's listening habits and they mold the playlist around those listening patterns, if you're song isn't getting played there is like a 90 percent chance the song is just terrible and your average citizen will not enjoy it, and the other 10 percent is most likely there is just simply not enough room for it in rotation.

He talks about making good music and songs, meaning music with melodies, music that means something, basically how he put it was music for people with jobs and things to do with their life. Majority of people listening to radio are listening in their car on their way to work, or travelling to some other destination. Nobody wants to hear people talk about beating dudes up, how much drugs you sell when you are a rapper, what you have seen etc. regular normal people don't want to just hear negative shyt like that in music because they use music to relax when they are done with their daily employment and other shyt they do.

These dudes are in a fantasy world where they think that if their music was just getting played the same as other music it would be flying off the shelves and people would be requesting it everywhere, that isn't the case. They simply are just not the top level artists and don't make music that connects with that majority of people's tastes.

no need to watch/listen to whatever he's saying.. if you, Kay Slay or anyone who lacks common sense thinks major cities all play the same songs- thats on yall..

outside of nationwide hit songs.. their not playing the same shyt in say Seattle, as they are in San Francisco, St. Louis, Memphis, Dallas, Atlanta or Detroit..

Its called popular music for a reason. I can guarantee in all those cities mentioned its Drake, Future, Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz, Jay-Z, Beyonce etc. Thats because those artists are popular. Only areas where these artist are played over and over its maybe college radio or satellite radio. There is a format that most major cities play.
