Us.

Why would we give up the 13th pick in the draft for a CB coming off reconstructive knee surgery on his ACL, who isnt even RUNNING yet, and we cant use the franchise tag on him due to his contract?

Thing is though, we are willing to give up our 2014 1st round draft pick, but not this year's 13th pick....it's too valuable considering that Revis is a mystery at this point.

We could get Dee Milliner with that 13th pick and he's easily the best CB in the draft

A 2nd round pick in 2013 & a 1st round pick in 2014 will suffice.

I know it doesn't sound like much, but there's one thing I've learned from watching sports; When you are trading your star player, you will never get fair value in return. See it all the time in basketball.

We wont be good at all, but next year's draft will be alot better. So a 1st round pick will be alot more valuable next year. Maybe we could even use that extra 1st to trade up and get Teddy Bridgewater.

Jets need to take whatever they can get, and move on.

They'll be high enough to have their pick of the litter.

idiots keep thinking a 1st rounder for a rental is fair value :comeon:

I respect you, so don't take this the wrong way, but

HE'S NOT A fukkING RENTAL! The team that makes a move for Revis will have an intent to keep him beyond this year. Otherwise we'd just keep him and get the comp pick for ourselves. We're guaranteed at least 4 for next year, then Revis the year after if all else fails.

There's no sense in dealing Revis for a replacement that will never ever be on his level at CB or anywhere else.

It wasnt a fact....it was a "could" meaning hypothetically or hopefully:blessed:

Even if it didnt happen, we would then take my FSU product Xavier Rhodes who I know for a fact is a great CB in his own right and the 2nd best CB in the draft......plus he was well coached by our Mighty Noles of Florida State coaches:youngsabo:

intent or no intent, the contract expires. yes, the team that will have traded for him will have first dibs...but that doesnt make him any less of a rental now.

how is it different from baseball rental trades ? its the same shyt. a team that a rental is traded to can negotiate an extension, cant it ?

I dont see why this somehow doesnt work in this case. obviously if he goes to tampa its pointless for them to get him as a rental. but as for playoff contenders, why not ?

I was never given an explanation on this. if you can do it, thatd be great. and I know football usually doesnt have 'rentals', but....still. for example, boldin is a rental for us right now.
