Your squad isn't going anywhere. Might as well get some value for him.

The idea of keeping Revis is so silly at this point.

That team is obviously clearing house and cutting costs, and here is a guy you can actual get something for and not have to worry about paying him 14m a year for the next couple of years.

The goofy sense of pride attached to Revis is befuddling.

Why do you think paying Revis what he's worth is a burden? If paying your best player is a burden when he doesn't restrict you from doing ANYTHING, then you're not willing to pay anyone, and who wins that way?

If they're cleaning house, why are most of the liabilities still here?

and get something? We're in a thread about how Revis won't even get a damn first? What are we getting? Depth on special teams? Are we drafting the next Von Miller at 9 let alone with some 2nd rounder? No. Aldon Smith? No. Some elite QB? No. Some great replacement for Revis? No! Stop assuming that somehow Revis will be flipped for something so good we'll look back on dealing Revis and know we did the right thing.

I doesnt make sense tho

The rams and vikings both need a WR and both have 2 1st round picks

Wouldnt you rather sign the proven guy and give up the pick rather then drafting a WR and risking him becoming a bust

None of the WRs in the draft are locks to be any good so why not sign the proven guy if your plan is to use one of those pick on a WR anyway?
shyt, Baltimore could use him right now. You don't want him? Yall got the cap room & ain't nothing wrong with losing the 32nd pick. :jawalrus:

Anyhow, i believe the Giants & Cruz are intent on coming to an agreement at some point. They're not that far apart, supposedly.

Glad the Bucs won't give up #13 for him. I'm still hesitant to give up a first next year though.

What happened to the 2nd round and 5th round story I heard before? I was cool with that :damn:

Because your player is not WORTH that money.

He is going to be wanting over 13m a year and he simply is not WORTH that. Every GM needs to place a value on a player/position, and if the player is asking for more than that, you gotta let him find it elsewhere. You can get 2-3 good players for what you`ll be paying Revis.

The draft picks you get can turn into great players. Kaep was a 2nd rounder. Wilson a 3rd, both these guys are good examples how great talent can be found later in the draft. Drew Brees was a 2nd round QB.

Get the picks and use them wisely and enjoy the cap space that you`ll have when you're not paying a CB 13million.

You're more likely to draft Jimmy Clausen only to suck so bad you can't pass up Cam Newton the following year.

The value of a QB or some other position may be higher but the team is in such ruin that the team won't have to deal with financial difficulties paying players even with Revis. They'll all be on rookie / cheap deals

I'm just not gonna assume Idzik will automatically draft correctly. Show & prove.

I don't think the Bucs will break the bank for Revis and give up that first. Sean Smith is still out there, Asomugha is too. There's still good corners left in free agency :ld:

Yeah, I think the Jets are over-valuing Revis.

With the injury and the contract, teams aren't willing to give up a fortune for a question mark

His current contract pays him an average of $8 million per; where are you coming up with $13 million? :what:

I wanted to dap about every @tremonthustler1 post in here. You SF guys are still clowns when it comes to this Revis deal. :snoop:

But 2nds and 3rds can get you very good O-Linemen and a running back for starters or a wide receiver and another corner/safety. Your organization should start stockpiling and getting ready for next years free agency class or even the end of this one that will have good players looking for quick paydays.

Yes his current contract is worth that, but his next contract is going to be avg'ing out to about 13 mil a year, don't pay yourself kiddo.

Look at what the Jets are getting for Revis, the Bucs refusal speaks volumes.

He aint worth what they think he's worth.
