Ok. I got it.

He's not starving though! Yall nikkas argue just to argueYou read a couple terms on the internet and for some reason you feel like you can run with it. Some of us actually took biochemistry in school and got tested on it.
And yes 1 meal a day is totally different than 1 meal every 3 days. Your liver will make sure of it. So much can happen in 48 hours.
If you been starving for 2 days and your liver sees some free floating protein best believe your liver is sparking gluconeogenesis and turning everything into glucose.
No its the same cause it activates the same hormones. About 10-16 hours after you consume your last calorie you body will enter into ketosis and start using stored body fat as fuel. If someone is only fasting for 24 hours they are getting roughly 8-14 hours of fat burning. When someone extends that fast to 3 days they are just getting more fat burning using the same hormonal change (ketosis). You think its somehow different cause you have never experienced fasting induced ketosis. If you did you would know that when you're in ketosis there is no difference between fasting for 24 hours or 72 hours.
Your problem is you are trying to extend that feeling of hunger you experience over 24 hours versus 72 hours. This is your fallacy. When I'm fasting for 72 hours I am NEVER hungry. That is because when the body enters ketosis (which remember happens relatively quickly) the hunger hormone Ghrelin gets suppressed. So to me it doesn't matter if I'm fasting for 24 hours or 72 hours. Both feel the exact same. You are just making the assumption that it must feel different so fast for 24 hours versus 72 hours because you are using your own limited experience.

So you're not gonna respond to anything substantive I said? Instead you'll latch onto one term and avoid the rest?

I’m here to argue the merits of fasting. Until he posts before and after picture I think all internet life stories are ducktales. But I agree with him on the premises of fasting. So you believe he added 6 pounds of lean muscle in two weeks?

I actually don’t disagree on the merits of fasting.I’m here to argue the merits of fasting. Until he posts before and after picture I think all internet life stories are ducktales. But I agree with him on the premises of fasting.
No that isn’t truth,The purest form of energy for our metabolism is literally glucose. The goal every biochemical pathway is to find a way to produce glucose.
Three days of non-eating is NOTHING. Seriously, until you do it, you will release how easy it is and how positive it is for your body. The body is VERY protein protective. The last thing the body want to waste and utilize from the body is protein. The body becomes SUPER efficient during fasting and hormonal production greatly increases. So I don’t doubt this fasting claim. I went 3 days and couldn’t believe how vitalized I got.One big meal a day is a whole lot different than 1 meal every three days.
Why should I bother? You won't post proof of your results and you're too damn lazy to use scholastic references.
Plus you started the cop out with the white man science as if there aren't any black scientists
I actually don’t disagree on the merits of fasting.
I also can’t respect blantant duck tales on muscle growth which is the reason this thread is even active.
He’s tainting good information with his nonsense
Ghrelin and insulin are the only hormones you're familiar with.
It’s the internet, a bit of truth with a lot of falsehood.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he meant 6 pounds of lean weight gain, meaning muscle, water and glycogen. 6 pounds of pure lean muscle tissue in 2 weeks I wouldn’t believe until there is proper documentation or many people can replicate easily. But 6 pounds of lean weight gain, I can believe. Anytime I break an extended fast with some carbs, I blow on rapidly in weight, good weight which is water and glycogen. The difference glycogen makes in the appearance and aesthetics of muscle is amazing,
Example,
Two guys are in a ketogenic state, both weight 85kg lean
One guys decides to add carbs to his diet but keep the calories same as his ketogenic partner.
Just by adding the carbs, his put on more lean weight, looks more muscular and ripped due to the water, glycogen and increase intake of sodium and potassium. Yet both still have the same amount of muscle.
Makes sense?
