This isnt the 80s though. its not just a matter of how many defenders they throw on Messi. Opposing teams have completely cut off passing angles, and without Di Maria he has to drop back to the half way line to get the ball.

And by the way... its no coincidence that the Argentinian defense has a damn CLEAN SHEET in the knockout rounds... Thats how much of the game is devoting towards stopping Messi. Its fukking absurd
