I been bumping this shyt non stop since the tagged leak...
1. Intro - 4.5/5 - Love the intro track. I wonder if Rakim really rapped to that beat. Good to hear him as a feature for once. This might not have needed to be the actual intro to the album but i'll touch on that later.
2. The Purge - 4.5 - Great follow up to the intro and lead in to the next track.
3. Strap Yourself Down - 5/5 - This was an early favorite and I bump this song nonstop. shyt gets me hype and gives me that old Bus feel.
4. Czar - 5/5 - Another early favorite. I can listen to these first few songs on repeat and not even get past them at times. This shyt is super hype and I could hear prime 50 on a beat like this too.
5. Outta My Mind - 2.5/5 - I don't like this song at all. I give it the 2.5 because flow wise he's attacking the beat in so many ways and that alone is commendable but I cant rock with this joint.
6. ELE 2 - 4/5 - I actually think this song should have been the intro. His rhymes and the overall build up of this song feels like the rightful intro to the album.
7. Slow Flow w/ODB - 4/5 - Banger. Easy headnod joint and the ODB hook will get you hype.
8. Don't Go - 4.5/5 - Love the hook on this one and Q-Tip's verse is amazing. Busta is phenomenal with the flow on this song. Arguably his best performance of pure rhyming on that verse.
9. Boomp! - 5/5 - This might be my favorite...between this one, Czar, and Strap Yourself Down. The bounce of this one is my shyt and i love the melodic hook. Late night ridin joint.
10. True Indeed - 4/5 - Short banger from Primo and Bus. It's exactly what you would want from a short song like this from these 2.
11. Master Fard Muhammed - 4/5 - Not my favorite joint but I do like this record overall
12. YUUU - 4/5 - I listen to this less as I get to know the other tracks but I liked this more than the other original singles. I still feel Anderson Paak is a young living legend.
13. Oh No - 3.5/5 - Song bumps but I dont care for it that much. I came in expecting an album full of songs like this and I'm glad that he didnt deliver that. I can bump this on a full spin but when i'm being picky i'll def skip this.
14. The Don & The Boss - 3.5/5 - Hated this song first time i heard it but it's grown on me. Def catchy but i didnt like it when it had ELE attached to it. It's cool tho.
15. The Best I Can - 4.5/5 - Great song. This one stood out to me more as i really listened to it. I know a lot of people in his position right now from that song.
16. Where I Belong feat. Mariah - 3.5/5 - I actually hated their OG song but this is like a complete ripoff of that song and it's kind of funny that they were able to pull it off like they did. Even the beat sounds similar. I actually kinda like this joint tho lol
17. Deep Thought - 4/5 - We've heard this sample a bunch of times but i liked how Bus glided over these drums. Theres some joints on this album.
18. The Young God Speaks - N/A
19. Look Over Your Shoulder - 5/5 - Yo i kinda missed this when the album leaked..only made it thru the album a few times to really hear this. It's such a strong record it's almost a shame it's put so late on the tracklist. They both absolutely murder this song.
20. You Will Never Find Another Me - 4.5/5 - Wow Mary goes the fukk in on this. Great performance from her on this. Another top notch track
21. Freedom - 5/5 Another great singing performance. After a slight drop down in quality Bus really ramps it up with some heavy content joints. This is a great track.
22. Satanic - Ironic how Rakim ends the intro with "the death of satan" and we end this album with the song Satanic which is even more on the subject. Great end to the record and Bus outdid his self on this shyt.
Def coould have cut a few tracks or released it as 2 LP's but ultimately i think it is best as it was released. easy 4.5/5 for me and in my top busta albums ahead of the few missteps he had mid career.
