im looking also. I rather stack up more of a down payment and let these fools foreclose
I felt like a clown offering that much over asking and still losing, glad I did though. With just that extra 17k I could rent a 2-bedroom apartment with a garage for a whole year. These people getting in these homes by the skin of their teeth and won't even have 2 months savings or any money for furniture.

It’s still awful. I’m in a position to purchase but I don’t see anything in the area I want that looks decent enough to pay upwards of an extra 10k for in a bidding war. :mjcry:

At one point in my life it was my credit. Then my debt to income ratio. Now that I’m bringing in the money and my credit is straight...everything looks like shyt.:sadcam:
This is the WOAT Year for this to happen, so many people got their money right but still got priced out. Even 6 months ago I could have gotten the home I wanted for my price range if I had the savings back then. Now the same homes under contract within 3-5 days with less square footage and no garage for the same price:gag:

First off....I don’t even like the way most new homes in my budget look.

My budget for a house is $300000. I’ll have about $60k to put down and I qualify for a first time homeowner program and down payment assistance programs as well.

But my major issue is paying a bunch of money for a barn looking house made from cheap siding, that is two feet away from your neighbors house, no backyard space, acreage....:stopitslime::stopitslime::stopitslime::stopitslime:

Also the house plans.:snoop: I grew up in a brick ranch home. 3 bedroom/2 baths, den, living room, dining room, kitchen with breakfast area.

But now because everybody thinks “OPEN FLOOR PLAN” is the coming messiah, the houses somehow have more space but less room.:mindblown:

So I no longer get a separate eat in kitchen, and a dining room. No longer have a living room/parlor AND a den. Just one big ole mashed together area.:pacspit:

And the BEDROOM SPACE! How can the house I grew up in be 1700 square feet and have bedrooms large enough to accommodate a full bedroom set...but a big ass 2200 square foot house got rooms the size of matchboxes.

I have full wood furniture. You know. Real shyt. Not particle board bullshyt you pay $2000 for these days. Bedroom sets passed down from my grandparents from 1800s.

But these new ass houses ain’t even got bedrooms big enough to accommodate a full/Queen size bed, nightstand, armoire, and dresser.

So I feel like I’m paying more for less even though it’s a newer home.:shaq2:
Is it just better to build? Am I trippin? I swear older homes are better than some of the new shyt I see on the market now.

I'd wait a couple years. Look for new builds or new communities. The market is insanity right now and sellers are EATING right now. Most metro areas have two weeks of inventory at BEST. Meaning, a house goes up for sale and in two weeks its sold. On top of that you'd have to offer 10%-25% MORE than the listing to even have a chance. Yeah...I'd wait.

I did this lol I was familiar with the floor plan and the house was only 2 years old. I was on the fence so I put in an offer for about 15k over asking. As soon as he submitted the offer I regretted it because I could buy a brand new house for these amounts. Our offer got rejected same day, a week later the house increased their sales price to 2k over what we offered. Mind you no one has seen this house there has been no showings and they had multiple offers. Eventually it went under contract. It hasn’t sold yet. Me and my husband had always planned to do new construction but we felt the prices were too high this year. Last year the prices were perfect but you have to put over 30k down to start build. We finally caved in an put in a contract for new build last month. I’m so glad we are finally out of the housing search part. It was starting to get depressing.

Yeah I’m just gonna wait it out. I love my apartment even though I hate paying rent but the market is on crack right now. My problem is I also have a very specific area code and neighborhood area I’m interested in.

But it’ll work out sooner or later. :yeshrug:

I found a new construction I wanted, toured it, told my agent to get the ball rolling. The person at the offices told us they didn’t have that floor plan in that area. After we just literally walked thru it. We go back and forth, she tells us we must be mistaken. My agent goes above her and talks to someone else and it turns out they just hadn’t updated the website so the first person didn’t know wtf they were talking about.

Cool let’s just get it done now.

“Oh that one was under contract, we’re going thru a system change and our records are messed up right now”

:snoop: I’m already done with this house hunting shyt. Apartment living for the rest of 2021 then I’ll gather myself to start this bullshyt again.
