Where are you guys mostly? In Brooklyn, blacks own plenty of places, especially hair care/salon, and restaurants.

We've always owned salons/barbershops/restaurants, but unfortunately it seems that's where it stopped. I moved out of Brooklyn a while back, but I remember most of the beauty supply stores being owned by yellow cacs.

You all are blaming "integration", but really what you're blaming is competition. Ask yourselves why is it that Blacks prefer to spend their money on non-black owned businesses?

I think we assumed the white stores were better and so we flocked to it. It's the white people have colder ice phenomena

Well the thing is. This is a specific ownership. I would only be mad if I knew the amount of black women that wanted hair care stores. Most people I know who want their own biz wants restaurants. I've never heard someone saying they wanted to own a hair supply store. Maybe a salon but not a hair supply store.

This is a problem. I would start a beauty shop well before I'd even think about starting a Restaurant [I'd never start a restarant unless it was a franchise or something]. All I have to do is manage inventory with a beauty supply store. There's a reason why 60% of restaurants fail in year one. Food quality, health/safety, food waste, customer service, menus, etc. Tell those friends of yours there'd be better off taking that restarant money and betting it all on black at least that's closer to 50/50 and you'll save yourself alot of time and headache.

Honestly we're at the point where we have to do this shyt out of necessity and not because it's our passion. We're giving away 15 billion dollars a year to Koreans when our unemployment rates is fukking astronomical, our men are getting railroaded into prison, and our communities are being terrorized by white police officers. We need to really own everything we consume from clothes, to beauty supplies, even the supermarkets we buy food from and gas stations. Our survival as a race in this country depends on it.

Real talk I'm gonna look into starting a beauty supply store in Atlanta that focuses on the natural hair movement. It's a niche that I think is pretty non existent and it could make a lot of money. Probably will take me a couple years until I'm at the point where I can do that, but that money is our money and it bothers me that other races are taking shyt from us.

I want my black people to be successful with whatever they desire to do. That's really all I can add to what you're saying. There is a big issue with teenage black boys too. I see too many young boys aspiring to be thugs.
