I remember when I was working at Joe's crab shack and this dude came up to us and said "my wife is allergic to shellfish. Can you change the grease in the fryer before making her chicken tenders."
It's Sunday afternoon and busy. We not about to change nothing. His wife came up yelling at the manager and all she told the woman was "ma'am this is a seafood restaurant". They got pissed and left. We also had somebody say they were allergic to shellfish but could still have the lobster bisque bc it didn't actually have any shells in it.
People don't realize how many dumb people walked in before them. You gotta be thorough with allergies

It’s called food contamination. You have teenagers making shakes. If someone says hold the peanuts, the should have asked is it due to a peanut allergy. These companies don’t properly train for that which is why they have that disclosure in their store. Dudes reaction is still unacceptable and if your kid has a peanut allergy, how about not getting him food from a place that has peanuts. Make your own shake.

The thing is they may have not put peanuts in there. It’s called food contamination. They could have used a scoop or a blender that was previously used with an item that had peanuts. In addition to the fact that peanuts could have gotten into the other ingredients. It happens all the time. These are teenagers. If my child had a deathly food allergy I wouldn’t trust a kid to not cross contaminate. Hell I don’t trust adults.
