Quiet as it's kept, I think the inter-state "beef" between North Cali and Southern Cali is due to Northern Cali's jealousy of Southern California.
Whenever someone mentions Cali, it is almost always in reference to LA and SD, because the Bay Area is just NYC-lite. Nikkas who are from the East Coast or otherwise come to Cali and go to the Bay area leave thinking it wasn't anything special. When they come to LA, they make threads like this:

So that gets Oakland and Frisco nikkas in their feelings, and they resent LA and to a lesser extent San Diego.
For us in LA, we don't really care about the Bay, outside of some nikkas here following the Raiders and 49ers. There was a period of time Laker fans were rooting for the Warriors to spite LeBron, but other than that, nikkas in LA don't even think about North Cali.
So that beef is one-sided, really.

Cali culture is just seductive. Everybody deep down inside has a fantasy of moving there and wanna be like Pac, start banging, riding in classic cars with candy paint and Dayton’s, smoking on some of the world’s finest dank. Everybody wanna spit game like they from the Bay, try to recreate East Bay sideshow culture in whatever city or town they live in hundreds or thousands of miles away.

Let me just state this before it go any further my parents are from Texas moved to pacomia had my older brother then moved to Vegas like 8 years later and I was born in Vegas and lived here my whole life

But Vegas being super diverse you meet ppl from everywhere and the only two kinds of ppl that remind me of LA dudes is my ppl from Chicago and my ppl New York (queens specifically) and I think y’all got more in common just different get downs
But Texas is just different all together and I got alot of ppl trying to move out there and I tell them it’s wayyy different out there and Texas has multiple cities with over half a mill or a millon plus Dallas Houston Austin San Antonio etc where NY just seem like it’s the city and upstate and Cali has multiple cities Diego LA LA metro area Fresno sac town Oakland SF San Jose etc it would be hard for any state to go against Cali except Texas and maybe Florida

I'm in a similar situation, where my great grandparents on my mom side are from Houston. They moved out here in the 30s or 40s, and my mom was born in the Wood. I was born in Pasadena, but grew up in Compton (where my grandma stay), West LA and later Inglewood, where I went to high school.
I moved to Vegas myself in the fall of 2015 when my job at the time offered me a GANG of pay as well as relocation, and I HATED it out there. Boring as hell, and scorpions all through my apartment. I stayed near Nellis.
Needless to say, I was up and out that bytch as soon as I could. Wasn't for me, and I missed the color "green", as everything out there is brown and orange, and the streets are bleached by the sun. It was awful. I still fukk with Vegas for a vacation, but outside of that, hell nah. Surrounded by old wrinkled meth heads 24/7 if you're off the strip.
Worse I'd seen was when I had to occasionally visit Pahrump. I ain't never seen no shyt like that, straight out of the Hills Have Eyes
