Been living in Cali my whole life and honestly can't relate with the people(on the coli) who say they don't interact with any other race but brehs and brehettes. If you live in Cali in a major city no way in hell is it possible not to interact with other races unless you were taught not to. I don't feel as though I've personally experienced much racism in my life (from California), there's only a few experiences I can list that would fit my definition of it.
But everything you listed in the OP is definitely here, I know people like that on the coast and when you get to the rural shytty white areas it's no different than what you're describing.
Not to mention racism manifests in many different ways.
California is not a sanctuary.

Never had to retreat away from terrorist Mexicans, closest thing I've had to that is (one) of my my Mexican friends mother not being a fan of black people, otherwise it was normal interactions, best friends, parents welcoming me into their households, and being taught Mexican traditions and line dances, you know normal people stuff.
