When I went to D.C. last weekend and I saw a black man on 7th and Georgia next to the Archives metro station with no shirt on and no shoes sleeping on the street. He wasn’t an immigrant from Mexico though so nobody caresit’s cool to have that kinda poverty around the corner from the US Capitol Building.
The Mayor is black.
Good amount of the DC Council is black.

I dont know any Black Americans being denied the same benefits that illegals are supposedly receiving. Are Black Americans subjected to systemic issues that effect us, yes but is that what we're talking about here?
I’m willing to bet all my money that their are black Americans in California being taxed for not having health insurance (for whatever their reason may be) to pay for the coverage of illegal immigrants.
I think the overall point is Americans should be covered in full before trying to cover those who are here illegally.

But you have failed to give me a reason why they wouldnt be covered other than their own choice. If you can give me a reason why a low income black person wouldnt be eligible for the exact same medical insurance that a low income illegal immigrant would be eligible for then we can have a conversation. I've asked you maybe 3xs and you didnt provide one. Now if you are referring to black people in higher income brackets who chose not to cover themselves, thats not the same thing, is it? You can not like illegal immigrants without making up situations that don't exist. I just need you to be mindful that all illegal immigrants arent Mexicans. They here from Africa and the Caribbean as well and they are people we would consider Black.
Thats just like people saying, "what about illegals taking jobs from black people". I get so disgusted when I hear that. Look at how low you think of yourself that the job you would be competing for would be the same job that a mofo who doesnt have legal papers to work would also be applying for. Those are the jobs you're worried about when Black college graduates have it twice as hard to find a job as a WHITE person with the same level of education. We have to fill out 50% MORE applications for jobs to get the same amount of callbacks a WHITE person would. But thats not the fight you want. You want to fight over illegals. Higher Learning my ass

Stop. No matter what there’s going to always be black people that have to work low income jobs. That’s capitalism. 50% of jobs in the US pay $18.00 or less. Those people should just be assed out so we can bring in millions of people from Guatemala and Honduras who will do their $15 an hour job for $8 an hour? Everyone you see in the hood...they have to work those sorts of jobs and not all of them will be able to become educated and move up to the next socioeconomic class. What about them? This argument is just nonsensical.

If they arent legally allowed to work, who are you taking issue with here? The illegal immigrant trying to find a job, any job to take care of themselves and their family or the corporations hiring immigrants who arent legally allowed to work the job they are hiring them for? You're going to go after the easier target, the illegal, right? Because thats what you've been mentally programmed to do. So while you're building your anger at the immigrant you're not holding the company accountable and take no issue with their practices. You're not calling your local rep, your not reaching out the oversight agency that company falls under and filing complaints, you are not voting, you're just on the internet mad at illegals.

For you to answer it and of course there is a higher number of non black immigrants in California due to proximity to the southern border. You asked, why are specific demographic groups getting specific benefits and not black people? I was pointing out there there could very well be people who are black that are also benefiting from this proposed medical coverage. Can you expound on specific benefits that illegal immigrants get that black people do not? I genuinely want to know what they are.

bu that wasnt the point of my post, if you actually read my post I said it wasnt about wether its right or wrong for illegal immigrants to get medical benefits, the problem with the issue is the political dynamic in which politicians are willing to address issues effecting illegal immigrants and willing to give them specific benefits but not doing the same thing for black people
the specific benefit illegal immigrants get is that they are able to violate the us border, violate federal laws and the state of california will help them and encourage them to do this with drivers licenses, medical benefits and refusal to enforce federal work laws
the real question is why are politicians so creative in trying to help illegal immigrants but dont have anything to offer black people, what has the state of california done for black people? what specific benefits are they offering black people

Outside of trying to offer medical insurance for low income immigrants, what other benefits do you see them creating for immigrants? I don't live in California so this is a genuine question. And I agree that Black people need specific benefits in a form of reparations which would be from direct financial benefits, student loan forgiveness, access to funds designated for starting a business or homeownership etc but I dont think this and that conversation are the same.
I’m taking issue with your assertion that illegal immigrants don’t hurt workers. You made a very classist statement a few pages back. “You shouldn’t be competing with people from Mexico anyway”. That’s classist as fukk....especially to all the poor Americans we have out here and considering most Americans make under $35,000 and don’t have $500 for emergencies, that’s ALOT of people. Those people are in the trenches of poverty, are unfortunately the most vulnerable and comments like the one you made are extremely dismissive to them.
Stop putting words in my mouth. I can be against both the corporations who hire them and the illegal immigrants taking advantage of our porous border. It’s not binary. I don’t need to write politicians. I have more important things to do. I take action by voting for people for who share my views. Any Democrat who’s more concerned with helping people from Guatemala over the poor ass people in their own local district or state is a politician that’s not getting my vote.
