:childplease: Makeshift baths, dude should just take showers out at home. That fry shyt doesn't even make you smell like that if you shower regularly.

:russ:

We should reward underachievers now :rudy:

Working at McDonalds is easy as fukk, these magazines always try and get sympathy cause the people writing them never had to do real work so too them it's "hard".
To me it's not about rewarding underachievers. He does a job that needs to be done, society needs service workers. It's not the most glamorous job or the most difficult but it is a job that needs to be done. There is no way that a full time working adult in the richest country in the world should be poor. It defies logic. Not saying he should be driving a benz, but he should at least be able to take care of himself.

WORD!!!!! Fast food joints should be a place where you work, whilst tryna find a better job. Them places are unfair, the amount of work you put in and money you make dont square up

the object of work is to work smarter, not harder. maybe dude doesn't have enough job skills to do any better, which would explain why he hasn't even had a promotion in 20 years in McDougle's.

I can't feel sorry for the fella. He could have move up to a manager position to a regional manager. There are some people that holds a high rank position that made a comfortable living from working in fast food chain.

20 years at one spot still making minimum wage is totally ridiculous. how can you be making that little of an amount after putting in that much work???? how can he have not gotten at least ONE promotion in all that time????? :mindblown:

Exactly. People always talk about not "rewarding underachievers" whenever somebody wants ONE dollar that's going to a man with billions to go to a man with nothing, who is doing the grunt work. This country is built on the rich getting richer though, and everybody - even the poor - have that mentality.

The actual work being performed. It requires no skillset and almost anyone can do it.

Actually, I beg to differ. Menial jobs are often more complex than many of your average middle management jobs. The tasks required in a menial job are often multiple and complex. Also, menial jobs often encompass more than just what's on the application. A fry cook might also work the register, drive thru as well as clean the store. An HR manager on the other hand sifts through applicants, makes decisions and types. If the department is large enough, most of her work is delegated to subordinates.

I'd wager that a large number of middle class positions could be learned with little more than on the job training as there's not much work required. People who like to thumb their noses at these low wage workers are of the mindset that more work equals more money. Well, if wages and salaries were determined by the actual work performed and complexity of tasks, office workers and most middle management positions would be near the minimum wage mark.

A last point is this, no, not just anyone can do those jobs, it's just that they will hire anyone to do those jobs. There's a difference.

So no one finds the fact that his wages haven't even kept up with the cost of living a tad odd? :leostare:

But, that's America for you. Cover your hears and eyes, until it affects you. And it will.
