Mike had a special type of composure, especially for someone as competitive as him.

Mike cared about his image as much as any athlete ever, so that's part of it, as well as a career full of overcoming adversity which I'm sure gave him enough confidence to feel he could still get to the top after that. I always feel like by the nature of the sport it's harder for football players to have an unwavering confidence after they lose a SuperBowl that they can just get back there in the future.
