Jalen Hurts should be top 10, at least #10.

It’s a Super Bowl.

Mentioned in the other thread, we’re going to start mentioning Bryce Young next season. Carolina is going to have a crazy year and it’ll be organically built.

If anything, I’m more skeptical about Stroud, Jayden and Mayfield.
What a wild post lol

I like the fact Bryce has bounced back and in non-ideal conditions. It was really bad, but that’s the worst it’ll most likely get. Dude learned and was thriving in the same bad conditions got really comfortable and relaxed the 2nd half of the NFL season.

I’m always skeptical of early incredible seasons because unless conditions are right (Mahomes with Andy Reid) it usually isn’t sustainable.

I additionally don’t think Baker is better than Jalen.

We’ll see I guess.

No Barkley in the 1st Super Bowl they lost and they were only in that game because of Jalen cause Patty was chewing them up. What was the excuse then? Cause he out played Pat. Talks about who he has around him but, I bet he won’t use the same argument for Burrow lol Burrow been throwing to elite wideouts since LSU nobody says shyt.
Now it’s knock a Jalen cause he has talent around him. We saw what Philly offense looked like those few games without Jalen(they weren’t good).
Sad it’s coming from Cam cause Jalen basically of the mold play style wise, except being a more efficient passer lol.

Mahomes under the two QB's who can't beat him :why:

Why isn't he downgrading Burrow for having Chase and Higgins yet still losing?

He should actually bump Burrow ahead of Mahomes, Burrow can beat him. :troll:

---

Top 10 lists are trash and there's barely 10 NFL QBs you'd actually want.

I always ask myself - if you took any of the top QBs and placed them in Dak's spot, would any of them have rings (no other changes to the rosters from 2016 until today).

Outside of his first year, I'm not sure Mahomes, Jackson, Allen, Burrow, peak Stafford, Hurts, late career Brady etc., could win a ring here.

I'm not giving Dak a pass....but rather showing that changing him wouldn't really add anymore Lombardi's to the trophy case. They'd have more NFC title game appearances and a few more regular season wins. Their issues existed before Dak and would still be issues even if they drafted Mahomes or Allen.
You don't have to wonder, just have to stop grading QBs on ring count, which as you point out here...is a team level accomplishment.

The most disrespected QB of this generation. The quintessential example of, "He wasn't supposed to be here." nikkas made up their minds on Jalen when Saban gave Tua his spot. The more successful he is, the more pushback he's going to get. If there's one thing people hate more than anything, it's being wrong.
and he's waaaaaaaay better than Tua

Hurts is top 10 by default. He's a champion, he wins way more than he loses, and he makes winning plays more often than not. However, he isn't as statistically productive as many of his peers, particularly when it comes to throwing the ball, and he lacks the arm talent of some of his peers. Anyone who watches the game can see that.

Multiple things can be true: He generally plays his best when it matters and should be more consistently productive statistically, given his supporting cast. Oh well. It depends on what you want from your QB, and he does what's asked. I think there are a few QBs who could replicate what Hurts does in the Philadelphia offense, and that the Eagles can win without him. But it won't look quite the same.

All that said, the first order of business is that people must accept that the QB's job, above all else, is to manage the game and do what is required to win. At the very least, the QB has to avoid causing a loss. Being a game manager is not a bad thing, and there are way more of them than there are "elite QBs" or "gamechangers."

In a weird way as a 49er fan this is similar to the Brock Purdy argument but even less fair. Jalen is more than what he does on the field. First off the tush push doesn't work as well as it does without Hurts incredible lower body strength. He performs at key moments in the game and I would even argue his maturity works as a counter balance to Nick Siriani's brashness. In every big game he has made several key plays to move the game forward. Will he ever be the QB that throws for 4500 yards and 40 TDs, probably not but he is more integral to what the Eagles run than people realize. Just speaking to last year he was absolutely a top QB and he should be where CJ Stroud is at minimum.

I thought I was going to have more QB's where I didn't have to think twice about taking over him, but my list for that is shorter than I thought.

Mahomes
Lamar
Allen
Burrow

There are probably some other QB's I'd take over him just based on the eye test, but those are the only ones where I instantly say "no" to taking him over.

-Then you have players like Dak, Goff, Mayfield, and Stafford that have been around for a long time. I can see arguments for them, but I can also see how people aren't huge on then.

-You then have some of the younger QB's such as Herbert, Love, Daniels, Stroud, and Lawrence. Again, I may take some of them over Hurts, but we've seen QB's like Stroud take a step back after their rookie season. We'll see if the same happens with Jayden.

I did everything I could not to put Drake Maye on here, although he will be on every top ten list after this year.
