Stop Calling is FIRE, one of the most disrespectful songs I ever heard
I Just Wanna.. the way they flipped that D'Angelo sample and Cam/Juelz chemistry was at an all time high.. shyt is amazing
Dead or Alive is another fire song.. "The way I been treated in this industry, not nicely.. little fakkit motherfukker like Mike Lighty"
The Roc.. nothing needs to be said
Boy Boy is cool, beat is fire
Tomorrow is the only skippable song on that whole album.. and its the last one
U really gonna sit there and tell me any one of those songs with the exception of Tomorrow arent good?

That's not always true, but I do agree with you that an album should be given time before its judged. Sometimes you just know some shyt is some superior next level shyt immediately though. How about reviews calling it excellent/superior or one of the years best?

Superior work doesn't make something classic. Impact and how long it stands the test of time makes it classic. Standing the test of time is the most important part to a classic.

And I can find reviews of that for Purple Haze saying it's one of the years best. shyt Rhapsody called it top 10 albums of the decade.

Not saying they are wack or whatever, but they aren't ingredients for a classic record. I listened to this album last about a year ago, maybe less. After not listening for a verynlong time. Let me go back and double check I'm thinking of the right records.

I agree Fresh, but they will bestow it with a 5 mic rating, or XXL, or what have you. They didn't do that with any of Cam's albums.

Also, many years have passed and I still don't recall reading anywhere that Purple Haze is classic. At least not by any renowned hip hop tabloids, sites, etc.

I'm a fan of Cam, but I can't objectively call any of his albums bonafide classic. I still enjoy them nonetheless.

I wasn't defining what makes a classic, I was acknowledging your point about it doesn't need to be a classic right away and saying, well, show some reviews saying it was excellent, one of the best of the year.

And purple haze aint a classic. All songs need to be 5/5 or close you cant have a classic album with this shyt on it

BOAB series was good but Vado carried them joints
Crime Pays (his last album) was the worst album he ever made

Cam may be a top 5 rapper in the last 15 years in terms of impact (such as Dipset, throwbacks, pink, swag rap etc...) but not in terms of music. Hey I love Purple Haze, Come Home With Me, and Killa Season, but there are other rappers discographies that are better.
