THE LOST WORLD – Show Review: Camron 1st Show In UK In +10Yrs At The Forum With Support From Skepta
This is my review and my thoughts of the Cam’Ron, Dipset Killa Cam, Harlem’s Cameron Giles show with support from Boy Better Know’s Skepta show. Or basically just the Skepta & BBK show at The Forum Kentish town, because the man who made it cool for everybody to wear pink all those years ago didn’t bother to come out to perform. But why?
Credit 1st to DJ Manny Norte, he was tasked with spinning records in between artists an he done well. Mixing it up with classic 90′s rap, Busta Rhymes, Mobb Deep, DMX, Biggie whilst also playing the popular songs From Drake Trophies, Meek Mill I’m A Boss, Que’s OG Bobby Johnson, I could go on but you get the drift.
However it can get to a point when the DJ set is so long that we the fans no longer want to hear the DJ do his job an instead want the main attraction to come on, an at about 22:20 that point reached fever pitch.
When this lady in red shirt popped her head up from behind the DJ platform, spoke a few words to Manny Norte I knew the next few moments would be vitally important. She left, Manny looked at the crowd an with his shrug of the shoulders you knew that Killa Cam, wasn’t coming to kill anything on that Forum stage.
He came on the mic to say that Cam’s whereabouts was unknown an it was unlikely we would see him perform tonight. Cue the boo’s. He assured the crowd that we would receive full refunds, I know I wasn’t trying to hear that. I came out to see Skepta & Cam an my night was only 50% complete.
By the time I had gotten to the stairs some ‘people’ who gave absolutely no f*cks had decided to jump the protective barrier between stage an fans an it seemed like a large of group of them were headed back stage (Check my last Insta Video @RealLostBoy to see). To do what exactly I’m unsure, because I thought Killa wasn’t even inside the venue let alone anywhere near Kentish Town. But Tim Westwood’s lasts instagram post had proved that he was backstage with the man of the hour.
If you don’t know you’re history you’ll be unaware that Juelz Santana came to London over 10 years ago to perform at a performance which he never did. But instead pocketed the £50,000 he was paid. But was then robbed of his jewelry, made a mockery on camera an that was the birth of the famous ‘swing dat Santana’ when he was forced to place a chain not of his own around his neck an do a little dance. He also needed help from artists from the UK to stand outside of the hotel where he was staying an calm the situation down for 3 hours. Whilst also leaving them to defend his situation before leaving out the side exit with police.
Long story short, i’ve been informed that that particular fee has risen (hood inflation?) or was/is now £100,000 and the ‘people’ who wanted to debt collected allowed for the Camron’s performance to go ahead last night only on the grounds that a conversation would be held with Killa after the show.
It would seem Camron wanted no part in said conversation an decided to not perform at all. Cue the ‘people’ jumping on stage in anger, because Camron not performing is already a slap in a face to the slaps in the face from all those years ago. So those ‘people’ wanted answers I can definitely understand why. I’d want some answers, the money and Killa you can throw in some raps too.
