Tatum has never been a great mid range shooter, even in his early years though he shot a higher volume of them, he was never just this high level mid range assassin

Also even when he did, he had the same habit of settling for low quality mid range shots, a lot of contested fadeaways

Nonetheless he took 19 shots last night and only 5 were 3 pointers…he was missing everything. He’s shooting 7-22 on 2s in this series so far
This is why I don't understand how this board keeps talking about him needing to shoot more midrange shots, as if they completely forgot once upon a time they were clowning him for trying to emulate Kobe, taking all types of contested 2s and he couldn t hit the broadside of a barn.

Taking shots from diffrerent areas isn't suddenly going to change his habits.

If he's taking ill-advised, contested 3s, then he'll only do the exact same thing from the midrange.

Yeah I’m less concerned with Tatum’s shot profile and more with his settling and tentativeness

The best version of Tatum exists when he operates within a happy of medium of being assertive without disjointing the offense by forcing it.

Outside of the 1st quarter of Game 1 it hasn’t been there. Whether you want to attribute it to the Knicks defense or him being in his head or both is up to you

A little easier to have better numbers against first round competition considering he’s only been to the second round twice. :scust: .

And the one year he had a team as good as this Boston team he went to the Western Conference finals and lost to the eventual champs :francis:

Swap Melo on this Boston team in place of Tatum they win 2-3 more chips :yeshrug:

This team is perfectly suited for a dominant offensive player like Melo who can play off another great scorer/wing defender in Brown with a cast of shooters, two big men (Horford/Prozingis) and a lockdown wing defender in Jrue

Tatum is just being too soft right now to take them to the next level. This lies squarely on him as their superstar. Series ain’t over yet dude can turn it around but it’s not look good

Just Win Baby

I’ve BEEN saying this

I mean he could but it could be countless other things as well. I'm not sure why this is being proposed like it would be some huge revelation? Or why the NBA would be afraid to announce it? Was he against the vaccine or something in the past? People have can have lasting complications from Covid, Flu, bacterial infections... hopefully it's not something more serious
