it's a whole new day and age. it's hard to decide. i am feelin rick ross at this point, but i was feelin biggie in his day. if the question was could biggie hold a candle to rick ross in the year 2012...it would be hell no. his style would be ridiculous in this era.

theres no logic in this. you act as if hip-hop has progressed. rap has digressed tremendously since the mid-90s.

the more logical question is, could rick ross hold a candle in the mid-90s. rick ross would be extremely lucky to be c-level status in those days.

If anything thats the one thing i kinda feel bad about with Ross. It sux that he came up in this era. He wouldve been much bigger had he been around in the 90s imo

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_VINjSdVxI]Rick Ross - Magnificent Lyrics ft. John Legend [New Video] - YouTube[/ame]

tracks like those woulda been hits in the 90s, plus the RnB scene back then wouldve benefited Ross because he's great at mixing hiphop with rnb(a lost art if u ask me.) I know Ross woulda hit up Jodeci or Boys to Men for some hooks

Ross understands how to make that "feel good" music that was popular back then

what part of the '90s are you talking about?

and remember, there were people that made songs like those, yet way better.

Ross actually woulda fit in more than people would like to believe...

Everybody thinks you had to be the most incredible MC in the world to stand a chance back then... but Master P's success kills the fukk outta that theory. If Ross was makin' some street shyt with some Suave House or Rap-A-Lot type production, he woulda at least been notable. Didn't have to be the most incredible lyricist, but if he was spittin' some shyt nikkas wanted to hear about... yeah. I could see him being one of those regional favorites like how Big Mike, Tela, UGK, Eightball & MJG were.

And... he actually makes full albums... which kinda differentiates him from most of these single-driven trap rappers.

That said, he's still not fukkin' with B.I.G. Not this year, not then.

nobody said that you had to be the most incredible mc. the thing with master p is that master p made WAY BETTER music than rick ross.

being a regional favorite like the rappers you mentioned is worlds away from being biggie smalls status.

Stop arguing with Wacky. Trust me :upsetfavre:

And you're right. Ross definitely would've fit in during that time period with the music he makes. Why yall think Diddy & D-Roc said he reminded them of their "boy"? :obama:

Like I said b....stop arguing with these "hip hop purists". Most are white boys & black kids who sat alone at lunch in high school. These clowns want you to believe the 90s was full of super lyricism & anybody who wasn't didn't sell records. In reality, Mase went 4x platinum rapping like Mushmouth. The nikka did a fukking song for the Rugrats movie :heh: LL Cool J sold millions of records and nobody considers him the next Lupe. DMX, Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, Snoop.........all platinum in the 90s. None of those dudes are the next Nas & last but not least........fukking Puff Daddy sold 7 million records. fukking Puff Daddy :heh:

Rick Ross would've fit right in....

^f**k off. you wasnt even around back then. keep my name out your mouth.

and didnt i just say that it wasnt about being super-lyrical? so why are you in here kickin the opposite, reaching to make a point?

lol @ ll cool j, mase, etc not being lyrical.

danj was right with his assessment about '90s rick ross, even tho he was trying to do the opposite of furthering my point.

Never message me again fukk boi.

Ole "lets put our problems aside & be friends" ass nikka :stopitslime:

You & Ronnie should go be gay together. He dissects lyrics all day & you're 26 years old thinking you're a 90's connoisseur. You was what, 12 when DMX came out :upsetfavre:

Get the fukk out of there you clown ass nikka...

i never said "lets be friends". and i said the "lets put our problems to the side" chit for a purpose, seeing that we had a common issue against something, but thats no longer an issue. dont try and make it seem like i was trying to cop pleas with you over anything. because thats far from the case.

i forgot more about hip-hop at age 12 than youll ever know. and no, its not about me being a "coinesseur". youre just not a hip-hop guy. and thats cool. just stop acting like you know everything, because you really dont know much of anything. people can tell just by reading your posts.

now youre mad, going way off-topic.
