Can I lie about organizations I was loosely apart of on a resume?

Realistically i wasn't involved at all...but I know people that are/were and could vouch for me if I was ever checked. But that's the question, do these employers even bother to check trivial information like that? My resume looking a little meager and I wanna spice it up with like 2 or so clubs I was "apart of" :smugfavre:

Only if you can "prove" your participation.

You'd be surprised what companies are willing to check before offering a job. If one of your friends can vouch for you as a reference then go for it, if not its not worth it.

if you get caught that's your ass in a lot of cases. Do you NEED this reference or activity to get the job? Depending on the company the degree of research on potential hires can vary between companies. I'd steer clear of lying in general.

If it's a lie, don't put it in.

But if you were "loosely" a part of it then do put it in.

You know what I mean? Write it in a way that is convincing to your self. "Was involved in the creation of The Club via conversations". If you can't, skip it.

I would red flag if I saw that, and I know some employers would too. If we saw your page had like 50 friends we're either thinking you're bullshytting or you're weird. Either or.

I straight up say I deactivated it recently, and they can never find me because my name is spelled wrong intentionally on facebook on top of not being able to search for me.
