Can I lie about organizations I was loosely apart of on a resume?

Instead of lying about being in a club when you weren't, overstate your duties in clubs that you did participate in.

Worked for me :win:

So. basically, just lie then.

Depends on what kind of job it is honestly. I've known people who have lied on their resumes before and they've gotten by. Plus I bet everyone fudges here and there. Not saying that that makes it acceptable, but at least you could have some shallow comfort in being apart of a group. :yeshrug:

the clubs i have "ties to", the officers in charge graduated already. i'd be putting down my involvement was in 2008-2010 and such

specifically:

-NESBE (black engineers club): 2009...went to a couple of meetings and shyt :smugfavre:
-and some healthcare club I gotta ask my ex about. I forgot the name of it but she was some official in it. and i'm almost positive she'd vouch for me if push came to shove
-a Christian construction manager club thing. my friend is an officer in it. never attended a meeting or anything (damn, I feel bad about this one )

so should i do it? :smugfavre:

Teaching job. If there's anything negative kids/parents will find that ish

What is considered negative?

Man, what y'all are doing is irresponsible.

What happens when you hire someone with a Facebook that "checks out" and that person does a horrible job or whatever you all associated with having a "negative" Facebook?

Do y'all get reprimanded or fired for making a bad hire?

my boss n hr ask me to google search muthfackas and their references all the time. I feel that that sh1t is wrong and random as fcuk. And a violation, because people can be profession even if their social life is weird or crazy.

But I do it.. and yea, there's always that one post on FB (especially for females), that one comment you made on a youtube Video or that one lie that you told on an application that will mess u up.

Ain't no CAC gone hire you if your youtube page is filled up with Malcolm X videos, lol.. and that's linked to you google plus.. then your facebook friends are 700 white hoes. :beli:

:ehh: I didnt know running a register for Arbys required so much detective work.. with this kind of spelling and total disrespect for the rules ofsentence construction you know damn well youre no corporate bigwig

:wtb:youre fooling nobody

if you get caught that's your ass in a lot of cases. Do you NEED this reference or activity to get the job? Depending on the company the degree of research on potential hires can vary between companies. I'd steer clear of lying in general.

This

:leostare:Plus you will be dismissed if the truth ever came out...its a small world..someone who was part of those clubs may work there already....all it takes is one water cooler or lunchroom conversation to go the wrong way and youre out...

Realistically i wasn't involved at all...but I know people that are/were and could vouch for me if I was ever checked. But that's the question, do these employers even bother to check trivial information like that? My resume looking a little meager and I wanna spice it up with like 2 or so clubs I was "apart of" :smugfavre:
Like what? Chess club, academic honor society, insurance salesman association or what?
I mean some don't mean anything and others are real.
