Charisma is not the same as animation. GZA has every necessary MC quality. He doesn't make club, party, or those type of records, but what he did on LS, he did at the highest level. The "charisma" is the imagery, skill and delivery. LS is no gimmicks MCing at its peak.
Man do I hate when nikkas just make shyt up as they go:mjlol:

cha·ris·ma
/kəˈrizmə/
noun
1.
compelling attractiveness or charm that can inspire devotion in others

Meth, Ghost, Rae, ODB had this in ABUNDANCE. GZA didn't:manny: It's cool to romanticize lyricism and only lyricism when talking about rappers but that shyt has never been the complete truth. People fall in love with rappers for what they say, how they say it, how they look when they say it, and what people carry into future generations

I mentioned I BOMB ATOMICALLY because not only is it the most memorable line on Triumph, it's one of the most memorable lines in hip hop history. Nikkas love Liquid Swords but there's no universal line from the album that's committed to the DNA of hip hop. That doesn't make the album any less classic

Now to be clear, it takes a minimum amount of charisma to be a performer. Any rapper with a following falls somewhere on the spectrum of charisma, but comparing GZA to his fellow Wu members? Let's be serious here:mjlol:

And again because nikkas DON'T READ. I love Liquid Swords/Liquid Swords is a classic/GZA is a wordsmith/the rhyme's on Liquid Swords are immaculate

And I’m also the one who said Deck is a better lyricist to me.

So what’s the problem?

That’s not the only definition that defines charisma. Being enthusiastic while also expressing passion makes not only speakers but artists charismatic which is why I think Ghost, Meth, Rae, and ODB were a lot of peoples favorite Wu members

I don’t agree with the lyrical miracle at all but @Blessed Koala and @O.Red have said a few things I think could be discussed that contributes to why they have a few issues with the album but this place is so much of an echo chamber that instead of discussions with them they’ve been shytted on its either you agree LS is perfect or you don’t know what you’re talking about lol

Breh i got negged and madfaced because I'm not rimming the fukk out of Liquid Swords. Like I said numerous times and even now. I enjoyed the album but do not understand the hype at all.

  • Folks around my way were bumping Rae and Ghost over Liquid Swords
  • The Box (IYKYK) played other videos beyond any from GZA
  • The album is not something you can throw on in the whip and just let play. If anything my goto Wu albums are the ones I listed including Wu Tang Forever
  • The constant ball licking of GZA is disgusting in this thread because when the sophomore dropped, so did the attention span of numerous hip hop heads (Like who in their right mind grooving to fukking "Breaker Breaker".
Even in that era, folks were like :russell:to GZA. The only reason why he gets hyped up because "real hip hop" dusty ass mofos and annoying whiny my first hip hop album cacs swear up and down, dude is revolutionary when in reality, he's the most forgettable Wu member. I'm dropping bombs in this thread because I gave the benefit of the doubt over the matter. But the constant bullying and name-calling towards me and the peers who actually bring constructive criticism about the album is grossed AF.

Imagine throat gagging another man because a marsupial just doesn't get the fukking album. No different from me saying that Dogg Food is probably the best Death Row album of all time. Opinions breh...opinions.

I never even said I dislike Liquid Swordz:dead: I think the shyt is a classic too:dead:

But yes anything outside of universal devoted love=hate to nikkas.

I said the cover is ugly and GZA lacks charisma compared to his group members which is clear. Not once did I deny it's classic status, but nikkas don't read:russ:
I read extremely well, I just wholeheartedly disagree with what you said.

GZA was a teacher and inspiration to most, if not all of the rest of the Clan. He's part of all their DNA as the most experienced (besides maybe Cappadonna), and easily the best when they started). He INSPIRED DEVOTION in his groupmates and made them better. You said he had NO charisma, w you're switching and said he had less than Meth, Ghost, Rae and Dirty. I never said he had MORE, or is more of a star, but NO CHARISMA is just inaccurate.

"He's the head. We form like Voltron and he's the head".

On more than one occasion several of them they say he is the best MC they've ever heard, or the greatest. The people you're propping up as better all got things from him.

I was embellishing with "No charisma" I can accept that:manny: but I go into depth in my last post. Everything else stands

I wasnt pointing you out. Someone else made reference to Deck having more charisma than gza. Which to me is absurd

I don’t care if you don’t like the album cover. That doesn’t mean anything. Saying GZA lacks charisma is also fine. If you can lack charisma and still make an album as classic as Liquid Swords that is an amazing feat in itself don’t you think?

The fukk charisma gotta do with the thread?

Son makes a thread claiming an album that for 3 decades has been considered a classic isn't a classic and we got dudes coming in here talking about charisma. Smh

Charisma is a part of rhyming. Charisma is a part of music period

Rhyming is a skill that can be learned, and it's a notable skill, but what separates nikkas is the charisma they exhibit in their performance.

If charisma didn't matter any nikka off the corner would be revered

I would think so:manny: but that was never a point of contention

The charisma talk started with a poster that addressed why LS is considered overrated amongst not only hip hop heads, but some Wu fans as well. GZA's lack of charisma has a hand in that, especially when compared to other Wu members

It's a good discussion to be had, but nikkas minds filter anything outside of complete devotion to hate:mjlol:

“We form like Voltron & GZA is the head.”

Charisma (/kəˈrɪzmə/) is a personal quality of presence or charm that compels its subjects.
Charisma is why Snoop Dogg is beloved by grandmothers as much as he is nikkaz in the hood.

Charisma is why 2pac is considered GOAT by legions of fans.

Charisma is why Dwayne Johnson's the biggest movie star on the planet.

GZA has TONS of lyrical skill, but there aint nothing compelling about that dude outside of that. That's not a diss, it's just a fact.

Dudes in here just making up shyt. Like @The Amerikkkan Idol and @O.Red.

I've been saying since the inception of this board that someone can post the most absurd shyt and there's gonna be posters that's gonna agree with it just because or just to troll. This thread is the perfect example. I've never heard anybody not consider Liquid Swords a certified Hip Hop classic. It's routinely mentioned as one of the greatest albums this culture produced.
nikka, what the fukk I make up? :stopitslime:
If gza dont got chrasima neither does any rapper from the 88 class. From rakim to kane.
What are you, retarded?

Rakim & Kane are two of the most charismatic individuals in Hip-Hop ever.

nikkaz dressed like Rakim and tried to rap and sound like Rakim for YEARS.

Whole generations of legends were inspired by Rakim and continue to be inspired by Rakim because the nikka was charismatic as fukk.

Big Daddy Kane's one of the most charming motherfukkers ever in Hip-Hop, that's why the bytches loved him so much.

that nikka was Hip-Hop's biggest sex symbol for YEARS

Again, you nikkaz don't know what the fukk charisma means:heh:

Am i retarded or are you talking about clothes and everything OUTSIDE the booth. The fukk? Talking bout noone knows what charisma means over n over and your bringin up how rakim dress about a discussion of charisma on THE MIC.

I used kane and rakim cause gza LITERALLY rhymes just like them. Im not talking about how a dude dress n act outside the booth man. Idk why you even brought that up about charisma on the MIC

Saying he has no charisma in a way that hurts the album, while your idea is “how charming kane is:wrist:

And how cool rakim dresses.

Im happy kane gets you clickin your heels and you think ra dress cool because your obviously infatuated with image before substance
Means we aint even close to talking about the same thing.

Gzas style is 5% seriousness

His draw is his wordplay/lyrics, while snoops is his image, odb his wildness, ras 5% flow and kyrics, kanes presence on the mic

Like he didnt get verse of the year with protect ya neck

His name is .. LITERALLY… THE GENIUS.

What itd be stronger if he had a more active personality? The album is about lyrics and beats creating a vibe. Whether the other members were liked more overall or maybe had a better album is irrelevent as they got like 10 classics between them and this certainly is.
