Can someone break down the history of REDMAN's gangster and why so many rappers were shook of him?

He wasn't deep in the streets or anything. He was just the first rapper to bring the dust blunt vibe to rap.
He was also the first rapper to embrace the idea of being psychotic and make it believable. I thought Geto Boys and Onyx were dope but I could tell they were putting on an act.

Lol the Geto Boys where not putting on an act them nikkas was nuts. Especially Bushwick Bill.

Breh, I'm in the process of getting faded, is my timeline that bad? Do me a favor and check again, just to be sure cuz even when typing that post I wondered for a moment if I was off. Was I really that far off breh?

I'll co-sign that your timeline was very, very off. I was about to post that very thing, but dude beat me to it.

An act? Face spent time in a mental institution and Bushwick's insanity is documented on the track "ever so clear". Two of the three were/are str8 up nuts.

Let's not exaggerate now. Them dudes were also rapping about killing people and raping them you're right Bill & Scarface did have mental issues but they weren't on the Big Lurch level or anything. They were making horror flicks and gangster movies over beats yeah they did "Mind Playin Tricks" but for a lot of those other joints it was obvious there was a major level of exaggeration there.
Beside J. Prince ruled over them dudes with an iron fist THEY WASN'T THAT CRAZY or else they would have taken issue with that. Dude make them take a bootleg album cover flick of Bushwick Bill in the hospital after he shot himself lol. Big Mike was the one that flipped the f^ck out and I thought he was the cool one.
Redman wasn't doing much of that horror show sh!t it was more of a understandable level of mental instability. Schizophrenia, split personalities etc.

I'm not trying to downplay the fact that Face & Bill have mental issues but outside of a few joints like "Mind Playin Tricks" & "Ever So Clear" the actual musical content was way over the top crazy. We all knew they weren't gangsters or psychotic murderers.
