The original trilogy was all about adventure. How can that not appeal to people? Everyone loves adventure! Added to that are some very popular themes and motives like the quasi-religious good vs evil conflict of the Force, the underdog story(Luke), the toppling of the evil nazi-like empire, the charming rogue and 'proper' princess love story...
And the setting was fresh and the special effects were ground-breaking at the time.

i never seen this movie in its entirety. one thing i can never understand is how crazy people get over a new addition to the franchise or attending comic-con conventions wearing chewbacca costumes.

why iyo are peopledrawn to this movie

I was talking about movies and you bring in books. :comeon:
And i expect more from Jedi ghosts.

Read the books, breh. All your questions are answered there. As far as why we like the movie, it was a seamless blend of sci-fi, action/adventure, and fantasy enjoyable by all ages around the world. Only movie to top it as far as box office receipts was E.T. and I HATED that movie. Laughed loud as fukk when that little mufukka died.

I just now watched the first movie two months ago, I didn't get the appeal either but I'm guessing knowing what happens spoiled it beyond repair for me

Yeah, also it's one of those movies that's FAR better seeing in the theater than at home. When the Death Star got destroyed, the crowd went NUTS!

Was the first time I'd ever heard applause when a movie ended.

not really. i can't remember if i knew what the outcome was when i first watched it (actually i can't remember when i first saw star wars but i'm sure it had to be when i was a kid) but i've never been hyped by the overall plot as much as the characters. that and the battle scenes. in fact, i think i didn't even watch the original trilogy in order either, i had seen them out of order. so much so where i was confused about the death star and shyt because they blow it up on the first one but then you see it again on the third. i remember thinking that the first death star didn't completely blow up and it was under construction. so, i almost created a totally different story in my head and i still dug it. that's why i said it's really just about digging the characters, i think...

Jedi are so much more then "space ninjas" bruh :shaq2:

And Boba Fett got out of the Sarlacc and went on to unite the Mandalorians :yeshrug:

That Boba Fett shyt aint canon. The nikka got swallowed by a disgusting Sarlacc Pitt on some fluke shyt. He died a painful, slow, agonizing death. Let it go breh....

EDIT: I want to emphasize how slowly he died by the way, Sarlacc are notorious for digesting their prey sllloooowwwllllyyyy. :umad:
