Can Someone explain the appeal of Star Wars

Never got into it. If I was alive when it came out in '77 , I'd probably got into the movie more cause of the impact it made at the time. Maybe if I didn't grow up around people obsessed with it and Seth McFarlane it too.


But its easier for me to watch and follow than Star Trek. That never appealed to me at all.

never watched the original series growing up but I read some of the comics/played the game (Shadow of the Empire top 5 star wars game) until I was given a box set. Other than the 2 film, i think the series is mediocre I laughed through most of the first one and Empire strikes back was painful to watch. I know the prequels arent amazing but they actually have passable CGI and action scenes. EU Stars Wars >>>>>>>> the films but that doesnt explain why the films are still held up in such an high esteem.

I still dont understand why Boba Fett is so popular. He gets 1 mintue of screen time until he gets beheaded by Father Skywalker with his lame as Priest getup.

I think the main reason he was popular is he looked cool. the toy was really popular

he was the bounty hunter that found the Millennium Falcon. then he brought frozen Solo to Jabba to collect. so he was an important character in the OG trilogy
