Can someone explain to me how Superman can possibly take an L to the Batman?

Batman usually has better writers. When Superman is well written, most the justice league becomes irrelevant. You see the problem with that right?

A lot of writers are Batman stans.

Oftentimes, the entire Justice League (and any other hero in the story) will become stupid and inept the moment Batman enters the room.

the myth is greater than the stories.

ANYONE can tell a superman or a batman story. ANYONE can write a superman or a batman story. just because once upon a time batman kicked superman's ass in a guy's story... doesn't really mean much at all.

all things considered, superman beats batman 99/100 times.

Batman would be Nighthawk status in the Marvel Universe

:heh: this reminds me of the argument I use for The Joker.

there's no way in fukk he'd be higher than a Daredevil throwaway/Power Pack arch nemesis in Marvel.

Batman would be running to build a suit of armor in Marvel because anyone higher than Daredevil/Gambit would whoop that ass early and often.

He'd get trounced by the Shang-Chi/Iron Fist/Wolvie/Black Panther/Captain Americas of Marvel just as much as he gets raped by Deathstroke in DC.

Ok kryptonite is supposed to be the rarest material in the whole universe. How does batman have so much of it and how is so much of it on earth?

:heh: hold on, breh. Sabretooth wasn't even a Wolverine villain when that happened.

His powers were still the same for when he eventually did encounter and give Wolverine all he could handle. Victor Creed was later powered up by the government, namely augmenting his strength and/or healing factor but that was already after fighting Wolverine plenty of times. Forums such as ComicBookResources widely cite this battle alongside Spider-Man vs. Firelord as unjustifiable PIS/CIS. The version of Creed that the Black Cat so thoroughly destroyed was still the same power level/base level as the Creed that Wolverine couldn't shake.

Edit: Research has both battles happening in 1986 (Dec. 1986 for the supposedly first Wolvie/Tooth fight and July 1986 for the Tooth/Black Cat battle). So after being a punching bag in July, he turns into a great fight for Wolverine just 5 months later in December. Comic book logic for the win!

nope. before this, Sabretooth was a power man/iron fist throwaway villain with ill-defined wolf man powers and Black Cat was pushing actual tonnage and enhanced everything else and who may or may not have had the luck powers.

People gloss over it because it's somebody that fights wolverine a lot..... ignoring the fact that not only did Victor NOT start being a wolverine villain until the Mutant Massacre storyline, but wolverine doesn't stand a chance in Spidey's class, either.

Nobody "begged" her to not kill him, either.

edit: did I mention Sabes was already pretty beat up at the time, too?

As she was slamming his head repeatedly, Spider-Man or somebody begged her to stop. Creed was limp as a KO'd boxer, no resistance, no presence, helpless. Somebody had a line literally like, "Stop before you kill him." This happened in this comic: Peter Parker, The Spectacular Spider-Man Volume 1, #116 (July 1986). This is just 5 months before Uncanny X-Men Volume 1, #212 (December 1986) as the first time he fought Wolverine.
