Can someone point me to the work Tariq Nasheed has put in for the cause?

The thing is....Lewis opted out of SNCC because he said that Carmichael (A REAL ONE) and his “militant” “black power” ideologies were too radical. Lewis then turned to the good graces same white racist lawmakers in office before he could even vote to be “their boy”. Being “their boy” has severely hampered his a ability to do anything tangible for blacks in half a century.

Upon reading the back fourths in this thread you appear to be more loyal to a perceived image (sponsored by white people) of Lewis than the actual truth. If black truly had an advocate in congress then we wouldn’t be reading articles saying that our group is projected to be completely broke by 2053 in Capitalist society. This fact should be of the upmost concern of out political leaders, but you cannot show where Lewis mentioned and fought against this damning projection of his people. The only thing that you can show from him in these last fews years especially have been his allowing white to use his beating in Selma as a representation of the black struggle, and HIM comparing our struggle to those of immigrants and LGBT while we blacks are still cooking in the capitalist oven.
My boy, what bills can John Lewis pass by himself? I know that doesn't fit your narrative, so you won't give it credence though. I know you understand how the Federal government works.

400 Year Survivors Of American Slavery.
Can you cite where you're getting this information from?

Her immediate family is well known in my city for owning one of the popular funeral homes in the area for what, I don't know, the past century.

Welsing had two or three memorial services separate from her private funeral.

Please post where you are getting that Tariq paid for her funeral.

Did he pay for her funeral or did he pay for one of her memorials? A funeral and a memorial are two separate things.

Welsing's family made a big deal about thanking Tariq for covering the expenses there was already a thread about it With Picture Receipts and people attesting to it on twitter Three Years Ago before you ramped up your trolling

One says memorial one says funeral but I'm not going to keep going into the internet archive to satisfy obvious trolling

the only thing of note that john lewis has done that I can recall is that he stood up fro some Iranians that were affected by Trumps' Travel ban, that's great for the Iranian but what has he done for ADOS in the same time span. He represented a district that will never vote Republican. he was never challenged seriously and he stood by while Emory jumped ahead of everybody else on Marta expansion AND while the Republicans in the Georgia Assembly made sure no more Marta expansion happened in Dekalb County ever, stunting Stonecrest growth

I lived off Pleasant Hill right off of Turner Hill up the street from Stonecrest. I always wondered why in Hell there was no Marta or anything for the young blacks in that area. Turner is a loooooong stretch, and there are NO BUSSES! nikkas had to walk to downtown Lithonia to get on a busline. I was always straight with my whip, but I always wondered how in the Hell could less “well to do” blacks get around out there. Now it hits me. Perhaps Lewis was only representing for the well to do black class of Atlanta.

He had the CBC with him, but nobody has advocated for the current issues that are truly daunting to black America’s future. Again a projection of complete wealth loss in 30 years has been made, but you can’t find ANYONE in the CBC let alone Lewis who has made this a priority? This is capitalism here, and having no money in a capitalist system means that you’re nothing.

You dumbass nikka, his job as a congressman is to literally vote or not vote on legislation. What the fukk are you talking about?

Legislation does not convict people. That is not the purpose of congress. Again, go read a fukking civics book and stop loudly speaking on shyt you know NOTHING about.

You know the reason why no convictions or anything come about from any of this shyt? Cause it's ambiguous with no real intention on effecting change for black people. So....yet again....nothing specific Lewis did, huh? Just name calling and empty rhetoric? He got elected for 17 terms simply to cast votes and not effect change, huh? What an incredibly low bar you have for such an iconic congressman. Throwing black victims names symbolically on legislation that's littered with empty words like "civil rights, minority, study, data collection" is enough for you, huh? I never said he was a bad person....just the wrong man for the job he had. Since you're being elusive about his tenure on the Hill (on purpose), then let me trim all the fat down for you.....what has he DONE specifically for BLACK people since he been there? And when I asked that the FIRST time, I meant what i said....BLACK! And if you're one of these goofballs that don't think you have to specifically rea or see the word "black" for it to count, then you're a lost cause. Here's legislation sponsored for immigrants...

Text of H.R. 1044: Fairness for High-Skilled Immigrants Act of 2019 (Referred to Senate Committee version) - GovTrack.us

And I would like to bring your attention to how this legislation has a COUNTRY SPECIFIC OFFSET in it SPECIFYING who they are, or not, talking about in it. Point me to the legislation this ICONIC BLACK LEADER has on his resume for BLACK people. But if all you got is more name calling and defensive posturing, then let this post die and move on. I can only imagine how your cowardly display of simply building with dialogue on a message board translates to your real life. Grow a pair, homie and think for yourself sometimes. He's not a bad guy, but he was NOT a leader of BLACK people.

In half a century what has come from that? NOTHING! What is the celebration about? A failed effort? "Welp see I tried". What else can he say that he has done to remedy the detrimental issues facing black America in 50 years?

Not to mention that you completely ignored the issue that I brought to your attention. 2053 is projected to be the year that blacks lose all wealth, if this is a projection issue then I have to ask the question, Who in the fukk has been "looking out for us" to the point that this is even an issue? If we had Lewis putting in work to be called a true black icon then this would not be an issue at all.

he cosponsored reparations legislation for black folks, voting rights act enhancements for black folks, anti lynching bills for black votes and fair housing bills for black folks. I keep posting this and your dumbass keeps repeating bullshyt because you don’t know what you’re talking about. Another loud embarrassing disciple of Tariq Nasheed. You deserved to be called out for being the ignorant dikkhead you are.

If you not coming with direct receipts you need to get your story straight because you've just posted two conflicts which means you are furthering the spread of misinformation.

Additionally, a coli thread is not a legitimate source.

And a quote from a tweet that was posted a day after the Coli thread from a nobody isn't either.

Frances died on January 2nd.
She had a memorial at Howard on January 17th.
She had 40th day Ascension Rites at Union Temple Baptist Church February 11th.
Tariq had another memorial at Metropolitan AME church on March 19th.

Her mother's family owned a funeral home in Chicago that did the funerals of Jesse Owens and Elijah Muhammad.

Her father was a doctor.
Her grandfather was a doctor.
Her other grandfather owned a funeral home.

Her sister was married to a NASA Astronaut.

And Welsing had her own practice in DC.

How did her family not have money to pay for her funeral?

Explain or STFU.

And please spare from posting other he said she said shyt.

He was doing real shyt with his book and TV money.

At the end of day a lot of these dude could careless about the likes of Nelly Fuller, Dr FCW, and others. We have a lot of Marc Lamont Hill types on here.

Another loud idiot. Go ahead and run for offfice and see how hard it is for your militant beliefs to be enacted into law. shyt doesn’t happen just because you want it to. You Tariq stans want to discredit all the elders who put in work politically historically for black folks in this country while ignoring how this govt works and what these men and women are up against. Legislation is passed based on majorities, numbers — and we’ve never had the numbers to accomplish significant change in this country. Insinuating that these people are worthless because of that and minimizing their impact, especially right after death, is fukking embarrassing.
