By forcing blacks into a financial corner.....Pay (not free) or face a fine come tax time. Of all of the major issues concerning black Americans (save for life style choices and subsequent problems) how in the Hell has this helped black people? This bill (Obamacare) CRIPPLED black businesses. Most of whom are small, and could not afford to pay their employee's insurance or barely even their salaries. Context is key here.

This didn't help black people. It's nothing more than a political talking point during a debate. What are the real issues facing black America? Wouldn't you consider blacks being projected to be completely broke by 2053 to be the biggest crisis facing our people in this Capitalist society today? Who in Congress, and specifically the CBC has made this a hot button issue?

In your opinion, who has really helped black people in the past half century?

"African-Americans are less likely to see benefits under ObamaCare compared to other racial groups, according to research released Tuesday.

While Hispanics, American Indians and Alaska natives have seen “dramatic” increases in healthcare coverage over the last year, obtaining coverage has been tougher for black Americans, largely because they disproportionately live in states that have not expanded Medicaid, according to an extensive 65-page report by The Urban Institute, a nonprofit research group.

The hidden colours documentary is enough, what is everyone else doing? What Is more important than Education? That series is one of the biggest series based around black peoples of now and yesteryear in recent times, I don't expect much more from him but he continues to do such.

If everyone of African origin on this forum can do as much it would be incredible.

Only problem with your argument is that it did help.

If John Lewis was any other race all of his people would salute him for shedding blood for the advancement of his people.

Only black folk would disgrace their own that sacrificed his life for them. It's no wonder why other races look at us the way they do...shyt is so dysfunctional.

Again.....If so then that's great. We have to go through all of this to find that "well it did benefit black people in some way", and for that Mr. Lewis has been entangled it's glory, and subsequently is a "black icon"? Me personally I don't see the benefit AT ALL in forcing me to pay a new tax, but somehow it's a great a feat in your opinion.

John lewis accomplishments

-Spearheaded the bill for reparations study
-Spearheaded the bill that created the AA history musem.
-Participated in many HBCU fundraisers namely for his fisk alumni

-Created a 3 volume graphic novel about the civil rights movement that won multiple awards
- received the national medal of freedom, of which less than 100 black people receive
-one of the highest voted congressman ever for his district that came to be called "black mecca" during his tenure. The highest quality of life for any concentrated population of black people in that region.

I'll assume the last accomplishment was somehow his fault.

3 out of 6 things he did for black people in 50 years. So leglsiatively he hasn't gotten much done for black people.

Listen I :salute: him and Civil Rights fight. No doubt. But congressionally it's been :unimpressed:.

That's because you may not associate with people who it benefits. Which are the poor or/and disadvantaged black community.

Again, 50% cut in un-insured rate and would be even higher if not for the Supreme Court ruling that allowed states to refuse to expand Medicaid. Your own link mentions it. Yet your link is from 2014...and since then even more red states have signed up. So again what are you even arguing at this point.

So he writes, or co-sponsors bills and takes them to the floor. What do you think happens then? Cacs bow down and give in?

Who's congressional record are we comparing his to? Surely not Tariq's.

I doubt you have many examples considering congress involves trying to pass bills through 99 other people, many with opposing agendas. And this country elects racists regularly

He has a 100% voting record on civil rights bills so within the capacity of his job he's been on code.

Above the fray.
What's interesting about it?

Tariq never said he hated foreigners.

He said he hates foreign c00ns.
This is false.
Any person who disagrees with him or criticizes him. As a way to deflect from the criticism, he cites their full, partial, or distant immigrant bloodline as the reason for the criticism.
Like I said, dude is on camera shucking and jiving for white laughs (the very definition of the slur he likes to throw around).

Rather than own up to it, he juelzes and lies.
The "oh, one of his eight great grandparents was Cuban, that's why he said x,y,z" is another juelz from a clown who never owns up to being wrong.
