Can we all agree that Lil Wayne started the "open colorism" trend in today's music?

Some nikkas ain't into dark skinned women, people need to get over it :yeshrug:bytching about it is not going to change their minds
To be honest I don't even see dark skinned women bringing this stuff up initially unless it's in response to yet ANOTHER c00n hand selected trying to "express his preferences".

Problem is when it trickles down to everyday interactions with some in our community. Preferences are fine but think about how weird it is in a racialized society to hear multiple times in ur lifetime, somebody say "I'm not into dark women." "I don't like dark chicks." And then attach hurtful stereotypes to it. And to be honest it ain't just about skintone.

Even beyond dating preferences, colorism has serious consequences. It's doing a lot of hurt to people in our community. Ain't but so much thick skin you can get before acknowledging that it's a situation.

dark skin black women should really date outside their race.

After seeing some of your other posts and seeing that this account was created in 2014 but started being used in 2017.

This is is a troll account.

I grew up in CA. Light skin was never not the wave out here so it's been my reality from birth. My (dark skinned) dad has openly said he married my mom because she was a light skinned AKA. Basically the end all/be all for a colorstruck breh out here in the 80s.

IMO, Wayne didn't start this or even make it trendy, it was already happening. The nikkas who were coming of age when he was really hot were also the the same nikkas who were basically a part of the first wave of social media prevalence. Before the 2000s, nikkas had nowhere near the exposure to millions of attractive, light skinned/redbone chicks like they did post 2007ish. They might have maybe preferred high yellow chicks, but rarely ran across enough in their every day life to start flat out saying shyt like "I don't do dark-butts" and dismissing dark skinned chicks or whatever the fukk. But in all honesty, social media changed a lot with regard to so-called "preferences" and it goes way beyond skin tone, but that's another topic entirely.

The only thing that's really changed over the past decade (and again, you can't blame Wayne for this) is the level of disparaging remarks some nikkas now feel comfortable publicly making about dark skinned women. It's one thing to say that's just who you lean toward, it's something else entirely to say dark skinned women are too ugly, aggressive, masculine, difficult, etc and act like that's why you fw light skins.

There's a big difference but a lot of folks don't seem to get that..

All this pontificating, cant you nukkas admit you love everything close to white and the reason being, white supremacy conditioned you to think like so.
