They overachieved like crazy last year. That game six comeback against the Clips gassed the front office into thinking the team was better than it really was. Harden carried that team far beyond what it should have.
Even after your fingertips cool off from all that angry posting you just did the Rockets will still be a bottom tier defensive team because their best plate refuses to commit to that end of the floor and no one will check him on itThis is one hating ass post. So you're telling me last year when the Rockets were ranked 6th in defensive efficiency last season it was all down to Harden? One player alone no matter how poor a defender he's perceived to be can drag a team down from 6th to 25th.
Beverley has been an overrated defender since 2013, Norris Cole was giving him work the other day while Dwight's defense has fallen off a cliff after the back injury. Ariza's the only reliable defender in the team these days. Having the worst PF rotation in the League probably doesn't help either.

That team got rocked by injuries last year; Dwight missed half the season. The only guys they could count on to be in the lineup was Harden, Ariza and 37 year old Jason Terry. Houston was counting on Josh Smith and Corey Brewer to be difference makers. Nobody would have predicted 56 wins out of that team going into the season considering everything they went through injury-wise.He really didn't though. That's what everyone immediatley forgot as soon as the playoffs started. The entire Western Conference was bunched together seeds 2-7 for a lot of the second half of the season due to injuries and shytty personnel decisions (Mavs). Heading into the last handful of games of the season the Rockets were as likely to end up 6th as they were 2nd. They won 56 games - same as the Clippers, one more than the Spurs and the Griz. And that's what they were - another team in the West that was kind of hard to set apart from those other 3, whose playoff success was dependent on catching the right matchups. They've regressed this year because other teams are healthier and better, they aren't totally healthy, Dwight is a year older and stiffer, no moves of significance were made to upgrade the roster, and the players clearly don't like each other all that much.
I really want someone to tell me how the Rockets can become a better team with the dudes they have on the squad or who they could bring in....Because to me Harden may be hard to build around.

D. Howard,
T. Jones
T. Ariza
C. Brewer
J. Smith
K.J. McDaniels
P. Beverly> Odom. FOH. Harden got an all time roster and ain't winning shyt with it. Can't slander my dog to make it easier. No Smush on that roster.![]()
McDaniels doesn't see the court.Step 1. Hire Thibs
Step 2. Find a PF and PG
Step 3.![]()
But don't they have Terrance and Montjunus are they keep in Dwight next season do they even need a good PG or just a spot up shooter

I wouldn't mind Barnes but I don't wanna pay the max for him. I really think we should leave that KD chase alone he's not coming here.
Horford/Barnes/Ryan Anderson then try to re-sign Dwight and upgrade the bench.
Oh and hire Thibs![]()
When the Warriors win the championship I think they would match a max offer for barnes wouldn't they
They're already way into the luxury tax. even when the cap jumps signing Barnes to a max will put them in jeopardy of not being able to sign bench players once they have to pay Steph the next yearWhen the Warriors win the championship I think they would match a max offer for barnes wouldn't they
