There wasn't a "west coast" sound back in those days..... the west coast so-called sound was ELECTRO FUNK until Dr. Dre broke away to make hip hop beats. And the only template to use was from the east coast. The west coast defining sound was when ATL and popularized by Dr. Dre created G-Funk.... other than that... rap music was rap music regardless of region. It was only in the early 90's where West was leaning more towards FUNK and East leaning more towards JAZZ.

The doc doesn't even acknowledge Texas. Lol I never heard him mention or even give a shout out to anything Texas related. He always was a west coast guy imo.
Didn't the D.O.C. put on Six Two, who's from Fort Worth Texas? I know he posted he a few times or one of his people.

The D.O.C. has a child with Erika Baydu who's from Dallas.

Meet Dr. Dre’s latest protege, 23-year-old white rapper Justin Mohrle
A native of Garland, Texas, Mohrle was originally signed to the label of another Dre apostle, Death Row rapper D.O.C., who had the youngster locked in a 360 deal before sending his demo on to Dre.

Clearly he didn't abandon Texas for Cali.

snoop is in 3-2 mode..warren g's g-child persona is 3-2 impression

Yeah, he did. I think that 6'2 guy has an account here. That just my opinion I just always viewed him as a West coast mc. Texas/cali got that connection though. More with the bay than LA. A lot of Texas cats were fukking with 40 and c-bo.

I don't remember what East Coast group it was but they have this same beat on their album. I want to say Nice and Smooth but I don't remember.

Them Lo Lifes...
To be fair. Most of the west coast music was directly influenced by the Mecca. Shyt even, some souths early music reflects this.

Dres production was more electronic and rock oriented with interplotation of funk and rnb. 100 miles and Zaggin4life displays that.

Legendary recording artist and notorious Dr. Dre songwriter opened up to HipHopDX about making his classic debut “No One Can Do It Better” in only three weeks, clarifies his relationship with the late Eazy-E and calls the Death Row years the darkest times of his life.

You have to remember that LL Cool J's Bigger & Deffer was produced by west coast producers. The most influential album of 1987. EPMD was sampling funk in 1988 so really like someone said the g-funk was the west coast first signature sound.

Nah u reachin on eiht n mike

Mike original name was dj mighty during LA techno scement

Eiht was always eiht..even when he was doin techno wit dj unknown n dj slip..

It's a coincidence. .that's all..

Also u gotea CMW has always been a low budget nwa clone

N gotta remember the alonzo..is low key behind both groups

He had doubts boUT nwa..they blew up..so he copied the nwa n the posse formula..n got a lot of cats in the techno scene like eiht nem..n turned em into studio gangstas over nigbt..
