just listened to it. and i listened to the gibbs/maadlib joint yesterday.

i see what exquire is trying to do and i like the album but hes pretty average. i understand why people like him on here. it kinda feels like he geared this tape towards the coli. hell, he prolly posts here. i dig the album but hes not a mentionable.

as for gibbs/madlib. darn good album. AOTY candidate. but to revert back to how he came into the discussion, he wouldnt have been a factor 10 years ago. at best, its an album i wouldve kept in rotation for a week or two, and then let it drop into the shuffle.

the previous generation is just as much at fault for what we have now.

what the hell happened to mentorship in hip-hop? it seems to be a dying breed.
