Can we talk about my guy Mike "The Maestro" D'antoni looking like the UNANIMOUS coach of the year?

I've been pleasantly surprised by D'Antoni. But I don't care about MVP's, COY's or 6th Man awards I want Chips. And if D'Antoni start stacking Chips that name will reign supreme :wow:.

I got the confidence in my squad and of course I always say if things fall the right way. No one expected the Rockets to be this good not even me. So why should we put try to short change what their potential can be?

I remember the media day interviews Bev was talking Chip and I was like even I don't know about that. But the way the team is playing they look like they can play with anyone in the league and believe they are good as any team in the league. That confidence not cockiness but confidence can take you places.

I'm not expecting a chip, but this season has been a surprising fun ass ride. I knew the Rockets were underrated before the season started but they're doing even better than I thought. And Harden keeps making the coli mad so i'm taking it all in and enjoying the season. :ahh:

You must be a young bul

Before steve Nash joined dantoni he had been in the league for 9 years and he made the all star game twice

Nash and Erick Dampier were free agents at the same time. Dallas thought Dampier was more valuable.

Nash was best friends with dirk and Cuban and they still chose Dampier over Nash

That should give you some perspective on how Nash was viewed before dantoni turned him into a hall of fame

Dantoni turned a white guard into a 2 time MVP

Dantoni turned an Asian guard into a household name and had people saying he was a better prospect than kyrie and John wall

Dantoni had Raymond Felton looking like an all star

The man Is a miracle worker

dap + rep breh.

it drives me batshyt crazy listening to ppl overrate nash in the all-time rankings. dude was an above average PG at best before pringles gave him the keys. numbers-wise, his first 8 seasons wasn't even fukking with an excellent-but-not-great PG like rod strickland.

now he's better than stockton, kidd, glove and anyone else you want to name outside of magic.

ol' system-QB-ass point guard.:camby:

Who you think is better? He came into a team that looked like shyt to me IMO and has them looking great :manny: Double OT win at the Oracle too :manny:

Honest question
Kerr's better. And it's not even debatable. You must remember it's not the same team as last season either.

The teams much better swagwise but they lost D-12. You can say whatever about d-12 but losing him and replacing him with Capela is a net negative.

Also Kerr last year didn't coach half the year and still got it. That being said Kerr is in the top 3-5 to me but look at the talent he's had in the last couple years. D'antoni is making gold outta garbage.

We've seen how the Hawks have looked this season. Defensively sure there might be a dropoff (in some areas), but not on the offensive end and certainly not overall when Capela is a lot more active than Howard was last season. This Rockets squad has no time for struggle postups (which Dwight regularly needs to stay in tune with the game).

Plus are you forgetting about Gordon and Anderson, and a more balanced second unit.

There was the realistic possibility he would've had back-to-back titles if Draymond wasn't suspended/injuries to Iggy and Bogut. I mean shyt all that basically separated the Cavs/Warriors last season was that Kyrie three-pointer. Kerr despite not actively coaching was still involved in the prep and his system was still in play when Walton was filling in.

The Rockets aren't garbage though, they have one of the better offensive units in the league.

Are you really going to ignore how D'Antoni-coached teams aren't really built for the playoffs, as opposed to Kerr-coached teams which have proven for two seasons in a row that they are? Kerr's been coaching for two seasons and has been to two Finals with one title. D'Antoni in all his years of coaching has never been to the Finals and has a losing record in the playoffs - including being swept twice in the first round.

Man.. you win with the best roster period. Of course Kerr has the more playoff built team with a MVP (now 2), 2 All Stars and a Finals MVP. Only two coaches in the past twenty years have won a chip without arguably having a top 2 roster in the NBA. That's Pop and Carlisle. Props to Kerr for instilling that system though but he gets too much credit.

I ain't even saying D'Antoni is better. But Kerr took a lot from him when they were both in Phoenix.
