Can we talk about my guy Mike "The Maestro" D'antoni looking like the UNANIMOUS coach of the year?

Man.. you win with the best roster period. Of course Kerr has the more playoff built team with a MVP (now 2), 2 All Stars and a Finals MVP. Only two coaches in the past twenty years have won a chip without arguably having a top 2 roster in the NBA. That's Pop and Carlisle. Props to Kerr for instilling that system though but he gets too much credit.
And your point to posting this is? Of course the best roster typically has the highest % of winning. The argument is based around Kerr v D'Antoni, so it only makes sense I'm going to reference their playoff success.
I ain't even saying D'Antoni is better. But Kerr took a lot from him when they were both in Phoenix.
Nah. I see folk wrongly state this all the time. Kerr's system is based off Pop's and Winter's systems, not D'Antoni's. See:
:dwillhuh:

Did you not read my post properly about it being based off Pop's system? First of all it's not based off the "2014 Spurs" per se, it's based off Kerr's time when he was with the Spurs in the early 2000s. I'm not saying that D'Antoni didn't have some sort of influence (after all, Gentry and D'Anonti coached together for the better part of a decade), what I'm saying is the system itself is a motion offense with triangle principles - not only is this evident in their style of play but Kerr has stated so.

The beauty of Kerr's proposed system is that it draws as much from the Triangle as it does the San Antonio Spurs' "motion weak" offense—which features nonstop movement, attacks and counters—all designed to get defenders on their heels in space. That means a play stymied on the strong side won't kill a Warriors possession this year. Instead, the ball will swing back to the weak side, where actions start afresh.

Like I said Pop's and Winter's systems. :beli:

Sure. I still don't see how you can claim one coach is definitively better than the other when the circumstances greatly favor that same coach.

Dantoni >>>>> Kerr

Give dantoni a pg like curry

:wow:

Dantoni woulda left Ezeli and varajeo on the bench and he would have beat Cleveland
The Warriors wouldn't have even got past the Thunder if D'Antoni was coach. They won those last three games with their defense, especially in G7. shyt they probably wouldn't have even been the #1 seed for the past two seasons either.

Most of D'Antoni's teams are always near the top in pace with the 7SOL offense, and the defense tends to suffer because of it. The '14/'15 Warriors were #1 in pace, but also had the #1 defense. I don't know how that shyt is even possible. But Kerr did it.

Tell you how pringles made him?

In dallas they chose erick dampier over him

Now hes a first ballot hall of famer

In dallas you had people asking if mike bibby was better than nash

After dantoni you had people asking if nash was better than jason kidd and isiah thomas

There's no way you were following basketball closely in 2003 and asking thia question

You're an idiot, straight up. Nash was already an all star before he went to the suns. Newsflash: Cuban was a shytty gm. He also signed lafrentz to a big deal. He even admits he made a mistake but got away with it because he had dirk

And you still haven't explain pringles shytty record without Nash, nor Nash's success without Pringles.

Youre one of the dumbest people on this site. Your basketball knowledge is sh*t and youre too stupid look up what you dont know

Facts

Steve nash played 8 years from the ages of 22-29 before dantoni. During that time he made 2 all star games and 2 all nba teams

Over the next 8 years from age 30-37 (well past a players prime) he won 2 mvps, made 6 all star teams, and 5 all nba teams

If youre REALLY stupid enough to believe this is a coincidence then kill yourself. You along with donald trump represent everything thats wrong with america

Yes you can. D'antoni has won 100% of his regular season match ups vs Kerr with them both as head coach. There is no argument to be made for Kerr. If Kerr ever won a game against D'antoni we'd clearly have to consider it a freak incident. D'antoni owns Steve Kerr. Kerr only has a good rep 'cause Kyrie and Love were injured at the same time one year.
