Can you be a rap fan if you don't enjoy 90s hip-hop?

How come? Most of the new generation of rap fans don't enjoy the 90s. They prefer the post-808s and Heartbreak rap.

hip hop changes so much in so little time and it's always been about the here and now and for the moment and when the next new nikka or nikkas come along
it's always been a very "out with the old, in with the new" type of attitude which i hate because the respect for what came before gets lost but it is what it i guess
the funny thing is, with hip hop, things become "old" so quickly and even more quicker in the last decade or so with the internet and access to everyone in 1 click
but hey, with time comes change. it is what it is
i really don't care about hip hop like i use to anymore, both the old shyt and definitely not the new shyt. the old shyt is cool for nostalgia but i don't love it like i once did even though i still go through the motions and listen sometime; and the new shyt just ain't for me at all really. i give some of the new shyt chances but i don't feel it like i did the shyt i grew up on. there's room for everyone to like what they like. if you a old school cat like me, you can still enjoy ya old shyt or if you a younger nikka of this era and only wanna fukk with the shyt you like that's comin' out right now, so be it. or if either of the 2 and you fukk with both eras of music, that's cool too

i would rather listen to my modern favorites than a lot of 90s hip hop too. it doesn't take away from my enjoyment of it though.
