You know the easy fix to this?

Simply allow the primary process to play out. Then whoever wins the primary, THEN back that person.

The fact that you have to subvert the voters to "choose" a candidate in this process shows that maybe the candidate isn't any good if they need the Washington based apparatus to defeat a grassroots person otherwise.

But this is ignoring that at the end of the day these are private political parties and in their current form they are highly compromised by political, not in favor of everyday people, and monied interests which is the only reason to engage in this process.

The Dems can't stop real change if the people behind it really want it to happen. There's no way this was going to be easy or fair when people have institutions and legacies to uphold. It's the way it is.

Now we'll see in the summer what the outcome is but for now people need to find a way to play within this system and take nothing for granted.

Understand the current Democratic party is not built to win but to exist as more torable place where for donors to put their money and influence if they can't quite stomach the real deal. Every once and awhile they'll come around and be in the right but that's not their purpose and they need to be tested and have their ways decided by the electorate.
