third song actually has a kinda hot beat in a way, nothing remotely original or modern about it but I was like "damn he might be onto one here"

then dude came out and spit "I reach octaves that illuminate at the hottest wattage and drop gothic topics while I plot with my operatives in a cottage" and all that goodwill he fostered by hopping on a tolerable beat just flew out the window

you don't reach any octaves k-intelpro your voice is monotone as fukk
your vocals don't realistically have the potential to heat anything k-Arthur the aardvark
gothic is actually a decent way to describe your specific brand of rambling because I am horrified by how unlistenable it is

"My level is unpassable like a simultaneous backwards forwards lateral"

:mjlol::russ::what::comeon::snoop::childplease::dahell::wtf:
I was going to agree with you, then I realised that this line makes perfect sense :heh:
It sounds you just don't get his lyricism :whew:

Oh I think I see what you mean. You heard the album yet?

Admittedly, no I haven't listened to it in its entirety. However, even if it ain't the greatest thing, he's been in the game so long, I would like to hear him interviewed by one of the notable interviewers/personalities.

Hopefully, they actually listen to it, so they can break down some of the lyrics..

It's pretty good, reviews I've seen off this wasteland of a site have been positive. 4 mics seems to be the most common rating. Yeah that would be dope, Bis would be a fantastic guest for them, maybe Montana from Conspiracy will interview him again. I'll have a look at some point and see if I can find any new interviews about the album.

Canibus has the same issue a lot of other "lyrical" artists have, he has a really poor beat selection, and really weak hooks.
He needs to really work with better producers and engineers, why not some more of the new school artists (Clams Casino, Kirk Knight, THC, Digi+Phonics, Lee Bannon, London on da Track, etc) and collaborate with artists much more well-known for their skills with hooks and choruses?
He could certainly push an album concept-wise, but he continues to fail to do so without collaborators.

You didn' t mention the absolute best beat on the album. 'Bis fans are weirdos. MATTE BLK RAPANA is the single cut. And Bronze washes Bis on it.

I think a lot of things are preference, some people like Canibus' style exactly how it is. This album is more of a niche album, it's very abstract, beats are mostly nice, Bis' style is very abstract though on a lot of the songs, that isn't for everybody.

I like this album, Phoenix Rise I think is truly one of the best songs from the year. The Mr Montana.... Thank You track is probably my other favourite, but there's a bunch of tracks I like and enjoy. If you don't like that style then you won't like the album, but for Bis' core fan base currently he delivered well here. I don't see what disses people could have for the 2 tracks I mentioned even in general, they are great tracks to me.

Bis is a really great writer and he puts words together in interesting ways, he's a wordsmith, he has a lot of jewels or touches on a lot of interesting areas in his songs. He's conceptual, he's a true artist, it's not just about chasing a hit with him, it's about making his art the way he wants to make it, I appreciate and respect that and it's a breathe of fresh air. And I can respect his approach, he's dropped an album with the recent one that I find listenable and likeable, with some really excellent tracks that could be classics.

He might not be for everyone, but I think anyone sensible could agree that Bis's style and approach is different and I don't see why that isn't welcomed, infact by many it is. I'm glad I got this release and bought it, it delivered to me, it was refreshing, there was tracks that I could feel in different ways, it's an album I appreciated. Having an uncompromising ARTIST in these times I find commendable, there's no compromise on this shyt, at all, it's raw...

bis never been washed on a track before

and bronze verse sounds like his mind is trying to play catch up with the tempo of his delivery
