Captain Marvel (Official Thread) March 8th 2019: 7th Marvel Film To Cross 1B$

I'm not excited... but its a tie in straight into avengers 4 so I'll watch it at a matinee'...

That's the thing. It feels like they're coasting on the Marvel brand and the fact that people will see it as laying the groundwork for Endgame rather than selling me this movie in particular.

Even Ant-Man and the Wasp, for as blah as that was, sold its scale gags and comedy. Black Panther had Wakanda. Thor Ragnarok sold us on the comedy and 80s synth vibe. This one feels like it's lacking a real identity. The most they've got so far is "This one stars a girl." Which I support, but give me a little something more.

We see Marvel not above that..... what if 30-40% of what they showed not even in the final film.

Noticed that too, usually Feige has a "phrase" to go along with the films like "Rom Com Heist Film" for AM&TW, "A John Hughes Superhero flick" for SMHC or like what you said about Thor. My cousin told me a couple weeks ago that it looks like "Hal Jordan's sister from the Green Lantern movie"

At this point, I don't really need trailers to get my hype for a Marvel movie.

Marvel have perfected their formula to the point that fans should already know what to expect.

And if you honestly need trailers to get you hype for an MCU film, then you might as well stay at home, or ride the second week wave.


At the end of the day Feige has already said Captain Marvel will be the new leader going forward. The new anchor if you will. So I doubt they will fukk this up.



And I still think every marvel movie that's sandwiched in between Infinity War and End Game were destined to be after thoughts. Which is why they only dropped 2 in the first place.
