The first VERSE was not written for Nas. Jungle had the first couple lines and took it and made a whole song out of it. Also. That his brother. And that ain't ghostwriting.
This is what Jungle wrote.
"Yo, all I need is one mic, one beat, one stage
One nikka front, my face on the front page"

That's not a verse.
Nas did the verses. Hook. Concept. And even helped with the beat.

This thread is a mess between people outright lying (the "One Mic" thing), getting facts wrong (the "Doggystyle" thing) and using terrible examples (the Twista thing, I'll get to that in a minute) to prop up this dumb broad and her opinion.

Twista said he had people write him a couple verses "for fun" (or however he worded it, because he wanted to try out a new style or something) and it was after he'd been in the game 20+ years. He made it a point to stress that the entirety of his career prior to that, he wrote everything. Including all his best known songs, guest appearances, classic verses, etc.

That shyt =/= "everyone has writers". Get directly the fukk outta here. "Having a writer" is people handing you finished verses since your first album/EP/mixtape....your best album has someone credited as a writer on 75% of the songs....reference tracks....etc.

If you're telling me the vast majority of the rap game falls into this category I'm calling bullshyt. We can never have a nuanced discussion about ghostwriting because people act like 3-4 lines is the same as someone writing half your album.

People using ghostwriters and needing ghostwriters are two different things.Plus the greats were already great before any mention of ghostwriting ever comes up. Thats not the case with these obvious industry plants like Cardi,Drake who are manufactured stars. My top 10 got hot without help and were already legends before you ever heard any whispers about this shyt,more than likely after they were already washed or reaching larry holmes status. I do believe that personally at that point you should retire,if you were once a legend,but now at the point where you NEED a ghostwriter. Like Snoop should have been retired a long time ago,pretty sure he has been using ghostwriters heavy for a while now. But hard to tell since alot of his stuff just sounds freestyled,anything good from him was probably ghostwritten.
