@Trip still waiting on the identities of the plentiful scorers we have after JR my dude.......

Felton doesnt consistently hit that elbow J off the screen and role?

Copeland in the limited opportunities he had this year can score. Shumpert can score. Prigs hits his open looks.

Id rather ball movement and have a stationary player score than JR taking an off balance two....especially when he's ice cold.

Felton doesnt consistently hit that elbow J off the screen and role? Not enough to be counted on to be a secondary scorer. Dude was 0-7 in an elimination game. Case closed. Felton? Really?

Copeland in the limited opportunities he had this year can score. He looked shook when Woody tried to give him a lil burn early in the playoffs. This sample size is way too small to say he can be counted on as option 2 in a playoff series. Cope? Really? You gonna bring up a dude that couldnt crack the NBA till he was 28? And I like Cope.
Shumpert can score. :childplease: C'mon son. Get at me when seeing him finish at the rim isn't still a 'pleasant surprise'. 2nd option??
Prigs hits his open looks. :rudy: Even Prigs himself would give you the :rudy: for this statement. Yeah he'll hit an open look after getting screamed on for passing up the 3 previous open looks he had. 2nd options aren't reluctant shooters. Dudes career high is like 14 points. I asked you to be realistic but I see you was like 'fukk that'.

Id rather ball movement and have a stationary player score than JR taking an off balance two....especially when he's ice cold. Ball movement is on the coach. I already said he shares some blame in why the Knicks got eliminated. Ball will be moving sharply all game but in the 4th quarter it deteriorates to ISO ball if we're down or the game is close. Woody needs some new gimmicks.

I'm still :dead: @ you naming Prigs...

he hits his shots when he's open, did you watch the playoffs. As far as SHumpert he's coming off a major injury and has shown a lot imo...who's to say he cant get better? We already know what Melo and JR are.

as far as Woody needing new gimmicks...he needs to be granted authority from the nitwits above him that he can tell Melo and JR to stop playing like a bunch of morons and actually have the power to bench them...no one should be above the team.

When Melo gets the ball and moves his arms around for 15 second then throws up a fade...without even looking to pass...its a waste of a possession.

he hits his shots when he's open, did you watch the playoffs. I already addressed this. I'm tryna take you seriously but you gonna have to abandon this line of thinking. Everyone in the NBA can hit a shot if they're open. I'm not 12 years old B. Stop tryna convince me Prigioni can be a legit #2 option. He's not even a #2 in Argentina. :birdman:

As far as SHumpert he's coming off a major injury and has shown a lot imo...who's to say he cant get better? We already know what Melo and JR are. I'm talking about the present and I thought you were too. You said NYK had plenty of scorers NOW that shoulda been shooting instead of JR. Thats false. Yeah I fully expect Shump to improve next season and I've said as much in the off season thread. I expect him to dominate in summer league and I'm looking for 12-15 ppg next season. NEXT SEASON. We're talking about the season that just ended. You keep tryna move the goal post on your arguments but that won't work here.

as far as Woody needing new gimmicks...he needs to be granted authority from the nitwits above him that he can tell Melo and JR to stop playing like a bunch of morons and actually have the power to bench them...no one should be above the team. Now I must ask if you actually watch the Knicks? How many times have we seen Woody cuss out JR this season? Mufukkas have made gifs about that shyt. Melo doesnt play like a moron IMO. I don't agree with it, but I understand why Woody does what he does with them. In Melo you have 1 of the top 5 dynamic scorers in the league. In a tight game you give it to your horse and let him run. He held both accountable IMO. As for JR not getting benched for dumb shyt, if he felt he had someone else he could trust JR would be on the pine. Stat plays 75 games this year this isnt even an issue and Jamal Crawford possibly wins his 2nd sixth man award.

When Melo gets the ball and moves his arms around for 15 second then throws up a fade...without even looking to pass...its a waste of a possession. Yeah that happens every time he gets the ball. You don't watch the games. shyt you talking is recycled rhetoric.

I was so fukking PISSED when we amnestied Chauncey.

...the nikka was an expiring fukking contract at 14 mill. he could've easily been moved. That's one of the most underrated boneheaded decisions by a franchise known to make a shyt ton of boneheaded decisions

I never said there had to be a defined #2 option....from a game to game basis those guys are capable...thats all.

As opposed relying on JR taking off balance shots...that's all. lol at Woody holding Jr accountable because he curses at him...dude played more minutes than anyone this season and was given free reign to sabotage the playoffs.

Im not vouching for Prigs or anyone else to be the defined guy....honestly the Knicks roster doesnt have anyone that should be the defined including JR

You know I got no issues wit y'all but you know why the Knicks get more hate than the Nuggets, Clippers, or Nets. Just compare the season thread sizes and that should give you the answer.

The question is how will you "slightly improve" with the lack of flexibility you have? Guys like Kidd, Camby, Martin are a year older so you cant mark them down to contribute the same or even more than this season with no doubt.

Chandler needs to show he can stay healthy and get back to himself, Amare is, well Amare. You need Prigioni back, Jr looks like he's back but what JR will you get? And Felton was a rollercoaster in the playoffs. Novak, well who knows.

But Melo will be Melo, and you could see more growth with Shump and Copeland (if he comes back).

It's entirely possible you guys can win 50+ again, but I don't think you can just write off the fact that dropping back into that 45 win group isn't a possibility.

Well shump and cope improving already is a tweak if we get steady play out of them two that's a plus .and our draft pick some get pickups :ld:

If you think Melo holding the ball and moving his arms around draining the shot clock is good basketball we have completely different philosophies on how the game should be played. I tell you this...of all the teams remaining...none of them are allowed to do that.

You think Pop would allow Melo to pivot 8 times with the ball above his head then throw up a low percentage two?

:heh:

That can be a plus, but you can't mark late round draft picks down to contribute right away, and you don't know what you will get out of your vets.

50 plus wins is attainable, but you need the right breaks on your older role players. I don't see how this current roster, even tweaked slightly, is a lock for 50 wins is all I'm saying.

Could you argue it's likely, yes, but I can't lock them in for 50.

Let's be real their offensive system is never going to work in the playoffs. Normally I'd blame the coaching staff but I think they cater the system to the players in this case. Melo needs to be running more pick and rolls, develop his post game and most importantly learn to get himself good looks playing off the ball. The Celtics put Brandon Bass on him during their series and Melo couldn't find ways to get good shots? :shaq2:.
