Ryan Anderson who is a WAY worse defender is on a NBA roster. Chandler Parsons' corpse is on a NBA roster. Retirement body Jared Dudley is on NBA roster.

Don't piss on us & tell us it's rain. We're not stupid.

Dudley is a positive veteran presence in the locker room. He can play the four spot and hit the open 3. He's a better communicator and defender than Melo. Those intagibles are why Dudley is still on an nba roster. In no way am I saying he's a better player. AT ALL. But he's a better fit.

I mean Melo was cold but he's a wing who can't play D at all and gets roasted on any guard. Then on O he's not really bringing much to the table unless you use him as your #1 or #2 guy and let him get a high volume of shots up which he'll do from spots on the floor most teams are veering away from AND he's best as an iso guy so the ball doesn't move. Teams are cool with that if it's Harden or Bron or someone who can hit 3s, get to the line or get open looks for others but not for a guy who's not passing and taking mid range 2s unless he's hitting them at a ridiculous level. On top of all that he's a HOF guy with pride who doesn't want to play the role of 7th/8th man that his skill set currently calls for. It ain't really that complicated. If he said 'yea I'ma just be a heady vet/leader and will be good in these 18-22 mns a night' he'd be on a team despite all that.

And yet there are players on rosters that are much worst in anything than Melo, and aren't even capable of scoring. Lance Thomas is on a roster. He's slow, can't score, can't pass, can't shoot, or slash, or handle the ball, and can't defend.

Just say he’s a better player, any team in the league would take last year’s playoffs Dudley over Melo. He tries more on both ends and is probably a better defender, plus is a better shooter. They’re going to fit the same spot on a roster, so the guy who does that job better...is better

Yeah I don’t believe defense is the only reason Melo isn’t playing....

there are a lot of shyt defenders in the league. Hell the NBA is so full of bad defenders that when someone is just slightly above average they get praised for it.
Nah hes awful trust me he's one of the worst and is bad on offense too

Dudley is a glorified towel boy at this point fam.

Hacking motherfukkas is not playing good defense. And Melo is a good locker room presence. Their has been plenty of ex teammates of his who have said this on record.
