You can, but it's a dumb comparison.

With Shaq you have an inside presence so you build around him with perimeter players and shooters.

With Melo you have a shooter who can play a little inside so you still need a couple big men and a pass first PG.

Swapping them one for one and measuring their success as a comparison for who is better doesn't take into account how the team is constructed differently for each player.

LeBron and Curry need different type of team constructs to be successful. They're not the same player or position.
But I'm comparing them as overall players

Shaq >melo
Lebron >steph

And I reject that Lbj and Shaquille need different teams to be successful, which is basically my point

They'd be a CONSIDERABLY worse team.

Stephen Curry is in the most perfect situation for his talents.

One of the worst comparison methods you can use. if you put that LBJ or prime Kobe on this Warriors team they're worse
They wouldn't win regular season games at the rate they're winning them, but they'd win the championship.

I don't think Lebron would work as well with this warriors team because he needs the ball to be effective. He's not a pass & cut type of player, he a pass & stand there & wait for you to pass back type of player. Lebron doesn't draw nearly the same attention off ball as Curry either. Can yall imagine Lebron running around all these screens in the warriors offense? Has Lebron ever consistently ran around screens any offense? :russ:
They'd change the offense around for him though, breh. He isn't Joe Johnson, man, if you get LeBron James on your team you just your offense around him. LeBron James with those shooters? LOL, the rest of the league would be food.

The rest of the league is already food. Their offense is still effective without curry on the court. I'm not a Bron hater, but I do hate the way he just dribbles & dribbles & tries to make something happen instead of flowing with the offense. He always give the defense time to set

But lebron is one of the best passers ever and he would destroy the Warriors offense :mjlol::mjlol::mjlol:

Curry getting trapped in the P&R 25 feet away from the rim carries more impact than any assist LBJ can record. He's not breaking a defense to that extent, and unlike Curry he's extremely ball dominant which is a conflict on a team that prides itself on everyone moving well without the ball and utilizing multiple ball handlers in an equal opportunity offense.

Its more his lack of reliable shooting on a team that has the greatest in league history that would kill their offense as we know it. That isn't to say they'd go from greatest of all time to crap, but they'd need to make serious adjustments to their strategy to the point where we aren't even looking at the same Warriors squad. You can't just drop the dude on this team and expect them to gel

They are already food, you're correct. People hate the way LeBron plays from an aesthetic perspective, but you can't argue that it hasn't been effective. The man has been the best player on two championship teams, six teams that have went to the Finals, and has consistently overachieved with teams that don't seem to have that much talent.

I don't know the stats, but my eye-test tells me that Lebron's offenses aren't particularly effective unless he has other top players on his team. He had two other top 5-10 players on his championship winning teams. All his Miami teams were supposed to go to the finals, they didn't overachieve. He should've went to the finals another time during his 1st run in Cleveland. I'd argue that he's an underachiever.

Curry on those cavaliers teams would get ate up in a heartbeat. First off Curry would have to actually defend players instead of having Klay Thompson do the dirty work on defense.

Could you imagine Curry guarding Gilbert Arenas in his prime?:mjlol:

Curry guarding a prime J Kidd:mjlol:

Also going against that Detroit Pistons Defense with NO help?:mjlol:

Do you guys really believe Curry could do this

He destroys a key part of their identity (dominant perimeter shooting, gravity from one of if not the most dangerous ball handler ever) and wasn't as good offensively as Curry is now. You're looking at an entirely different Warriors team centered around one ball dominant player if you swapped the two. These "if player X and player B swapped teams" comparisons makes no sense, just flat out say you think LBJ is better than Curry if you believe so.

Great points but Curry is NOT the most dangerous ball handler ever:mjlol:
