I do. Can't speak for anyone else. It seems to me deviating from the topic is what those with weak and invalid arguments do along with posting smileys.

The vaccine is specifically for the virus so of course it would come into the discussion. They are both connected. Why else would people have the need for the J&J vaccine?

You’re grasping at straws here breh.

But the discussion isn't about the virus, that's a red herring.

Breh :dwillhuh:

The virus is the reasoning that these specific vaccines are even needed in the first place. So of course it's going to come into the discussion as it's the reason these particular vaccines even exist.

I'm going to let you cook and continue to play dumb. Have a good day sir.

Breh, this entire thing is to discuss the vaccine works vs. the vaccine doesn't work.

Anything else is a red herring.

Going by your logic, I better see you sticking to the topic of discussion in other threads that you engage in with no pivoting whatsoever. I’m going to pay attention and see if you actually abide by your wording.

But according to the CDC, vaccinated people can’t carry or spread the virus.

CDC has never said this. Like @Dafunkdoc_Unlimited said the vaccines are not 100% effective and some people are going to get unlucky and become infected and transmit the virus. The benefit of the vaccine is that amongst the vaccinated, instead of 100% of people having the capability to become infected and transmitted, it will only be 5-10%. And the risk of serious illness or death should be virtually non existent.

COVID-19 UPDATED APR. 1, 2021
CDC Data Suggests Vaccinated Don’t Carry, Can’t Spread Virus
By Paola Rosa-Aquino

"After warning for months that vaccinated people should still be cautious in order to not infect others, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention suggests they may not be at much risk of transmitting the coronavirus."

“Vaccinated people do not carry the virus — they don’t get sick,” Dr. Rochelle Walensky, director of the CDC, told MSNBC’s Rachel
Maddow on Tuesday. That’s “not just in the clinical trials, but it’s also in real-world data.”

Which is exactly the reason why I stated that the CDC is still out here giving conflicting information and it plays a part in why there's mistrust against the organization. As I said before, they are looked upon by citizen of the US as the SME's and that comes with the criticism if their messaging is conflicting or inconsistent.

You helped prove my entire point without even realizing it.

let's be honest, either J&J execs curbed somebody, thus they out for revenge OR the other vaccine companies are tag teaming J&J by using their profits to push J&J out the paint

what better way to fuel anti-vaccine conspiracies than to overreact to a few bad cases for one company, while ignoring the few bad cases from other companies. Then add
-Fauci continual flip flopping between fear mongering and being optimistic,
-schools open/closed depending on type
-businesses open/closed depending on elected officials' opinions

...then you'll partly understand why the hesitancy to take vaccine

I agree with you that that was terrible in terms of messaging. But putting out conflicting information doesn’t always indicate a lack of honesty and transparency.

Particularly with something like a novel coronavirus where the scientists were learning more about the virus as time progressed and modifying recommendations as a result.

I will concede that I believe they were being dishonest when they claimed initially it wasn’t necessary for the general public to wear masks out of an effort to make sure the front line medical workers didn’t run out. It never made sense that doctors needed them but the general public didn’t. I can understand that doctors obviously need them more, but they didn’t frame the argument that way.

He’s saying they should continue the use of a potentially dangerous vaccine simply because more people would die w/o it. This doesn’t make sense because there is more than enough safer vaccines. There’s no shortage of vaccines so there’s no need to risk potential harm with the most dangerous one. Then he straight up said they should continue using the potentially dangerous vaccine so that people who are hesitant or “anti-vaxxers” won’t have a reason to believe they were right. This also doesn’t make sense because if someone doesn’t want to take the safer Pfizer or moderna vaccines, then news of the J&J vaccine won’t make a difference.

But I thought it wouldn’t matter? Dumb to pause something when you are more likely to be struck by lightning than have adverse affects to a vaccine, when it will ultimately erode public faith in that vaccine, and eventually all vaccines over time.
